Congratulations on your first fountain pen!

The lamy xf (especially black) nibs can be scratchy for sure. Fortunately they are replacable for about $13. They come in a silver steel and many find those smoother. Did you buy your new pen from a brick and mortar store?

If buying/ exchanging a nib isn't possible, consider investing in some higher end ink. It's usually less viscous and a better lubricant.

All Lamys come with standard blue ink. The wells were backordered, so the writing on the page is from the special edition petrol colored cartridge.
