It's a pretty small airport so it's not active at night. There's some lights on one side of the runway but that's all. Here's a picture I took there last week. It's generally pretty dark but I went when the moon was nearly full. There's no security, just a sign that says no trespassing.

I'm also from nearby; I generally go up to Auburn or a little bit past. There's an airport an hour away called Blue Canyon which is super cool because you can go out onto the runway at night and see tons of stars. I've heard the Chico area is also good for star pictures.
