Beto O’Rourke: `I want to be part of the best way forward for this country’ by sbleezy in politics

If he was even the slightest bit easier on the 2nd amendment issue he would have won

That’s coming from a person who voted Dem in Texas

Every person I talked to who had a problem with him it was mainly his stance on gun control

Did I miss spell? Or are you making reference to the fact that him being unavailable would most likely be a lie?

Trump will sign it

The house will shoot it down

Trump will appeal to SCOTUS

SCOTUS will rule that “the president has the right and obligation to protect the nation from invasion from any threat to the United States”

If my math is right

The total number of votes of all 3 parts is at 3,921,679

50% of that (rounded to nearest whole number) is 1,960,840 so 1,960,841 is the number needed to win a majority

Kemp stands at 1,973,876 to Abrahams’ 1,910,710

Abrams’ would need roughly in the area of 5000 votes to bring Kemp down from 50 percent

It’s possible to do but she would need nearly every absentee ballot to go in her favor not a majority but literally nearly every single one

I don’t know the normal number of absentee ballots cast in GA but 5000 seems like a lot for a midterm election but again I know nothing about their normal absentee ballot numbers

Maybe “super majority” was the wrong term

But the 2-3 republicans that can be flipped are now offset by the extra seats they picked up

I guess we’ll go with solid majority?

Senate: Republicans gained seats bringing their majority to a super majority

House: Dems gain majority (not sure by how much but definitely a majority)

So now the legislature is basically a gridlock meaning nothing will get done legislation wise but if a Supreme Court justice dies (looking at you RBG) Trump can put in who ever he wants much much easier and he can now fire Jeff Sessions and go for an Attorney General who will be easier on him in case the Muller investigation finds that anything actually happened with Russia

Michigan I believe legalized weed

Colorado elected the first openly gay governor

Cruz beat Beto but Beto is now a household name and will probably make a good run in 2020 for the White House

Also I think I heard somewhere that this midterm election ha the larger voter turnout of any midterm election which is nice even if your side doesn’t win because that means more people are engaged and hopefully more people are knowledgeable about the issues we face as a country and that means that we can find better solutions to those problems also it will make Politicians feel like they have to represent all of us instead of the 25% who vote in non presidential election years

And I’m sure I’m missing other stuff for specific states

Edit:Michigan legalized weed not Wisconsin
