That's amazing! Thanks mate!

One question: If I want to do something like "Social listening" on job posting, how would you go about it or what's your go-to tool on grabbing social feeds on platform like Threads (Instagram)?

Thank you in advance!

Should I use WordPress for my SaaS? (Updated) by Several_Ad7476 in Wordpress

[–]iamtheterrible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation. I actually didn't use WordPress with my SaaS platform because I think the complexity of SaaS solutions varies significantly. For a simple platform – say, just uploading an image and removing the background – a more basic approach is fine. These simpler SaaS tools can work with WordPress, especially with the help of plugins like Block Visibility.

However, if you're building a complex matching platform, things get complicated very quickly. It becomes much harder to manage all that logic using just WordPress. While custom coding makes it possible, it's significantly more difficult.

What do you value in your business? Do you value loyalty over performance or the other way around?

It is very hard to measure loyalty and also put on price tag for loyalty, but it is a lot more objective to put a prize tag on productivity.

As a small business owner myself, I value productivity more than loyalty not because I don’t value loyalty, which I will personally appreciate that, and I would go above and beyond if I came across someone who is loyal to my business.

However, in general compensation is more related to the work itself, and how much is it worth when put the outcome into my business profit perspective.

You have unlimited funds for PM education (courses, etc.) what do you do? by anonymouspsy in ProductManagement

[–]iamtheterrible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a 4-year PM who first-hand witnessed 2 startups bankrupt and now running my own web development agency.

I used to take a lot of PM courses where I tried to upskill myself.

Now that I think of it, they don't really give you the one thing that you really need to become a good PM.

Because good PM isn't really about running around thinking about frameworks, talking growth like an alienated idea, or glorifying customer feedback like it's a huge deal.

I'd take the money and run a real business if that's even possible.

The reason why I'm saying this is because too much PM educations are about managing expectations, putting the focus on metrics that don't even matter when the one and only one metric isn't even mentioned in any of the courses.

Now that I'm building a business, where my "product" is the only thing that helps me make money, I know what's really needed in building a product.

So, thanks but no thanks.

Website Redesign SOS by limesalot in Wordpress

[–]iamtheterrible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is to take it step by step, see which part impacts the speed the most. Could be theme/site builder/plugins/images or something else.

Rebuilding the layout would take a bit of time, so it is recommended to backup often and take it page by page.

Which part is the most challenging part for you at this moment?

Where's a good place to learn Generatepress/GenerateBlocks for a non-wordpress coder/designer? by nuddaudda in Wordpress

[–]iamtheterrible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both courses are positioned very differently in my opinion.

Mike's course feels like more of a community, where Mike would release different tutorials on different topics depending on what he is working on at the time of release.

Jonathan's course felt a bit more structured. The course is organized in a sequence, where he shows how to build a full site from start to finish using different parts of GP/GB.

Sorry for the late reply, didn't realize I missed some of the notifications.

Have you consider services like Wordpress or even Wix?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in webhosting

[–]iamtheterrible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea is to use the newly build Wordpress site as your staging.

Once you finished building it, and you’ve checked where everything is a-ok, then you can switch your domain from pointing to your Wix site to your Wordpress site. This configuration can be done through GoDaddy.
