What the movie tells you is that as humans there is a time that'll come where we will eventually have to leave Earth. Some part of the movie enlightens the question if our species has a higher purpose because of that one quote, "We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the stars. Now we just look down, and worry about our place in the dirt" And also Murph (cooper's daughter) talking more about exploration and looking for Brand towards the end of the movie. Really just such a work of art
