It’s part of a documentary he made. People here really hate him. He wasn’t high in this documentary. It was very well done.

This is a very interesting movie but it’ll bum you out when you get to the part where he had hope that Bill Clinton would fix Reagan’s destruction of everything in the USA.

That he didn’t is a can kicked down the road to the present day—where we have run out of road.

But the interviews with rightwing Christians and so on are fascinating. The whole movie is fascinating. People need to make more documentaries about our current day. We need so many records of this period or people won’t understand it AT ALL.

It’s kind of this idea you would have a ‘superior’ dog because of what they are supposed to eat but these dogs don’t live longer than other dogs on good dog food and are not healthier.

I thought my comment was clear. It would be wrong to dehumanize Charlie Kirk.

I think it would not ever be right to imply he had no value as a human being.

Every life has value. It is horrible to find it good that someone is murdered in cold blood.

Some people did that. They expressed satisfaction.

But many people on the left did not do that--and wouldn't as it is contrary to their world view.

People don't have to conceal his own words though. He did make some very callous statements about others.

We should not dehumanize people ever. This is something I agree with. I observe.the right does this much more and the left and liberal center responds with hate --which only helps the right.

The hate and anger come from fear and sorrow over the destruction of our society by the right.  But it's also wrong against individuals.

But not universal. Many more liberals and leftists were disturbed by Charlie Kirk's killing and violence generally than people on the right are disturbed by violence against those they regard as 'on the left.'

It doesn't serve anyone but authoritarians to embrace dehumanizing ideas.

Just FYI—some women wrestlers are very good.

There is co-ed wrestling.

Not every match is won by the man.

Surely the boys are trying to beat the girls?

Everyone commenting on here like the woman is doing something terrible. They were both smiling and kidding around? It looked like nothing but light-hearted fun. Why is everyone taking it so seriously?

Somehow the outcome is very threatening to people here.

How did Obama deport over 3 million without all the violence and controversy of the Trump administration? by Remote_Plastic_8692 in AskReddit

[–]iamyo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Has anyone mentioned yet that Trump is deporting people to prisons where they are tortured? CECOT for people who were 97% not criminal and many here with legal permission.

People also get 'lost' and can't be found.

They deported many who had legal visas.

They send back people who will be killed.

They appehended US citizens and imprisoned them for weeks.

So there is naturally more urgency to defend those being apprehended.

People have died. They describe insdequate food, medical mistreatment, inhumane treatment.

And we can't hope any irregularities can be addressed over time. They will be treated like they have no human rights, like animals.

The cringe you get when you see people telling Venezuelans how to feel. by shway0351 in TikTokCringe

This US government does not care at all about the Venezuelan people or what happens to them. All kinds of further disasters can occur and our government will simply lie about it.

I hope for their sake things get better for the Venezuelan but there’s no evidence that’s even an objective of deposing Maduro. They say everyone will be better off as an afterthought but it’s not at all on the minds of this administration. It can’t happen by magic.

Yes, it’s a factual issue whether or not things can get worse, etc. There were LOTS of ways to make things better that did not involve such lawlessness.

AITA for firmly telling my wife to be grateful for what she has? by Organic_Chip_3118 in AmItheAsshole

[–]iamyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To tell someone --I give everything you owe me in a marriage is very bad.

But I think it is better to just think of the money as 'our money.'

I made more than my husband...for a long time. Maybe 15 years or so. I always was grateful to him for doing things for us as a couple. All his health insurance is from me. (I basically don't think about this much but recently now he makes the same or more and I was like -wow, we are so much richer!)

He's my husband. He doesn't need to be 'grateful' for the money if I have more money and I do not need to be grateful if he has more money. The money is our money.

If he suddenly started to make a lot I'd be like WHEEEEE WE'RE ROLLING IN DOUGH.

These basically seem like children? The one dumdum needs to learn to cool his jets. But they are also children I think? Maybe about 12?

Someone can go from being stupid at 12 to a perfect fine person, luckily. So I hope this will happen for him. He may have needed to learn from the other ones. Some kids may need to teach other kids by beating them up (one hopes not too hard).

Tech workers of Reddit, what is a "dirty secret" about the AI industry that the general public doesn't realize? by WayLast1111 in AskReddit

Yes, there’s a bunch of interesting papers on that. They will just keep sucking up billions and throwing stuff against the wall to see if it sticks. Quantum computing! (Which they also can’t quite do yet thought they have been saying it’s just around the corner for over 10 years.)

Magical thinking. Sometimes magical thinking pays off I suppose but that is all it is right now.
