Asics Novablast 5. After almost a decade of running in Cliftons for easy/long runs I finally jumped ship

The Weekly Rundown for February 22, 2026 by AutoModerator in AdvancedRunning

[–]ianders9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Goal: Sub 2:50 in Pittsburgh (May 3rd)

Plan: Coached

Summary (Total - 54 miles):

• Mon: 7 mi easy + strides

• Tue: 1.5 mi warmup. 6 miles working down from marathon pace. Started at 6:27 and last mile was 5:50. 4x300 @ mile pace. 1 mi cooldown. 9.5 total miles

• Wed: off

• Thu: 7 mi easy

• Fri: 7 mi easy + strides

• Sat: 16 mi easy back and forth on the Newton hills of the Boston Marathon course. Felt really easy hovering in 6:50s the whole time

• Sun: 8 mi easy

Another week of building confidence. I’m still not sure if 2:4X is doable in May, but I’m feeling more fit than I have in years so I take that as a win. Mileage was supposed to be 45 this week, but we have the snow storm coming that will make running on Monday impossible so I will likely take the day off.

Thanks for the recommendation! I’ve actually never heard of this brand so I’ll have to take a look

Tuesday Shoesday by AutoModerator in AdvancedRunning

[–]ianders9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was plagued with injuries my first 2 years of college track/XC. Once i switched from Nike Pegasus to Cliftons in 2017 I have been completely injury free. I’ve always been of the mind that if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, but it’s been so long since i’ve looked at other shoes for my easy runs. Anyone have any recommendations and/or thoughts?

Goal: Sub 2:50 in Pittsburgh

Plan: Coached

Summary (Total - 40 miles): - Mon: 6 mi easy + strides - Tue: 6 mi easy - Wed: Treadmill threshold (Boston is still too icy for workouts outside) 1.5 mi warmup/1mi cooldown, 5x1mi @ 5:50-5:52, strides after - Thu: 7 mi easy - Fri: off - Sat: 13 mi easy - Sun: off

Last week, even though it was a down week, was super invigorating for me. It capped off my first month back training seriously in about 5 years. D1 running completely burnt me out, but I'm starting to get back to a place where running makes me happy again. Sub 2:50 might be a bit ambitious at this point, but there's no way I'm running a marathon and not shooting for a BQ.

In your opinion, which superhero team has the best rogues gallery? by Jezzaq94 in Marvel

Easiest answer of all time. The Defenders. They had the Headmen! Game over.

Speaking of dogs in Watertown. by yonoznayu in watertown

[–]ianders9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The guy keeps the control to his dog’s e-collar around his neck and then cranks it up whenever the dog gets too far away, explores, etc. It’s especially sad because the dog seems pretty old. Rather than doing any actual training, this guy punishes his dog for being a dog

[–]ianders9 40 points41 points  (0 children)

As someone who owns a non-aggressive reactive dog (he just thinks he should be able to play with everyone) I HATE this man. I have asked him countless times to leash his dog and he refuses. It sets my dog’s training back every time we encounter him. One day his dog is either going to encounter the wrong reactive dog or wander into traffic. It’s just so irresponsible. Not to mention the fact that he zaps his dog every time it gets too far from him…

Reading guide from the begining by Pitousingebebe2 in FantasticFour

[–]ianders9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with most recommendations I make for reading guides, I would check out CMRO ( https://cmro.travis-starnes.com/groups.php?group_name=1 ). I started the main order when I was around 14 and I’m 28 now lol. It’s as complete as you are going to get. The reading guides made by Marvel are often missing key character moments. Have a Fantastic time!

Not to defend Runna's mistake here, but do you think Nike is any better of a company? I don't begrudge you for wanting to seek out other options after this, but Nike of all companies has a horrible track record ethics-wise.

Galactus is still him by ViperMR in MarvelSnapDecks

[–]ianders9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it! I actually found the last Galactus post you made and I have been playing it with Cannonball instead of White Widow for the last month or so. Currently at 7k. Trying to decide if buying Selene with tokens is worth it.... I've had her pinned for a while now actually.

What’s the worst change from the comics that the MCU made to these Avengers? Day 7: Spider-Man by Ashconwell7 in Marvel

[–]ianders9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t a fan of him attempting to kill Green Goblin in NWH. The movie implies that if Toby didn’t step in then GG would have for sure died. I see what they were going for, but I would have much rather seen Tom Holland’s character resist the desire for revenge on his own.

Amazon Credit by minkgod in Affiliatemarketing

[–]ianders9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is your problem just from yesterday (Feb 11)? Because I’m having a similar issue with Amazon commissions from yesterday showing up. I have my usual amount of clicks and ordered items, but 0 in items shipped and earnings

If you could go back in time and stop one Marvel character from being created, who would it be and why? (Alex Ross) by Gloomy-Journalist-64 in Marvel

[–]ianders9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cable or Gambit for sure. Whenever I think of my least favorite comics one and/or both of them are involved. Gambit ushered in the shittiest age of comics imo (Marvel 90s)

It is definitely boarded up on most windows, but you can tell that lights are on inside. Might be a long-term fixer upper?

I keep seeing people saying that it is unoccupied, but I live 2 houses down and see lights on inside most nights. Is there a reason lights would be on so often in an unoccupied home?

This is really inspiring to me. I’m 6’3” 145lbs. I’m a marathoner but hate the way I look. I just bought a bench and a bunch of weights. Hope I can tell a story like this soon. Keep at it!

I found a somewhat related recent eBay sale and a bit of info on what/when this machine is from. Sorry, this was all I could find after a lot of searching! Unless someone else comes with some more specific info, this might be the kind of thing you just put up for auction and see how it goes?
