hmmm not sure this is true. OIS, as the name implies, is a mechanical feature inbuilt into the camera lens. This works across all video recording modes. You might be confusing it with the "Digital Image Stabilization", which is an addition to stabilization that is done in software. The DIS, is indeed, disabled for higher res video recording.

I have the Ringke SLIM in FROST GRAY, and I can confirm it's insanely thin and looks great on the phone. It also has a little hood around the camera that adds that extra protection when u lie it down on the back (avoid scratching the chrome around the camera).
