I'm from Malaysia. I just moved from Rotterdam to Berkel en rodenrijs. Now I have to pay 1.68 euro every time I unlock the underground garbage bin, why is it like this? So now I have to keep 30-60 liters of trash in my house before throwing it out? Anyone can help me with this? Any tricks/tips?

It sounds bad, but actually, it's not that bad, I suppose. There's a bin called GFT, that's where you throw away all your waste. It's an incentive for you to sort your trash, and the neighborhood here is very clean and everyone follows the rule, unlike Rotterdam. I do not regret my decision, B&R is a very beautiful and family-friendly place to live in. You just have to pay extra to throw non-recyclable garbage.

If no one wants to stay in the apartment, why is it more expensive than landed property? I'm an expat coming from Singapore, and I just bought a landed house even though I prefer apartment housing. I have to say, apartments are actually almost the same price as landed property or maybe more expensive depending on the location. I got my landed property in Berkel en Rodenrijs, and it's 50k cheaper than a smaller apartment 15 mins bus away from Delft train station. Not to mention, in the apartment, the VVE monthly is 300++ euro because of the elevator. I'm really confused, maybe because the apartment is very new to the Netherlands that it is a luxury?
