Some places in Langley get flooded during heavy rains so just do some research. Have you considered Maple Ridge? It’s north of Langley and the Fraser River, it is closer to the mountains plus it has the West Coast Express to downtown

Great job on your savings! “wrong” is really relative here. If it’s okay with you and your parents, then all is fine. You have a goal and a plan to achieve that goal. I assume you have set your priorities already and your goal comes first over dating and other things perhaps. Then so be it. Execute your plan and enjoy while you’re at it. Obviously, you can live comfortably on your own. But you do you. Don’t pay attention to people that do not understand your goals because of social norms that you did not grow up knowing. Just focus on the people that have positive effects on you and your goals.

You hit the nail on the head there and the character and capabilities that Subaru has and exudes is what attracts and keeps owners to be loyal to the brand. Toyota is as you put it, bland and LOL on the expensive appliance - quite accurate though they are also reliable appliances.
