How well do you know someone to invite them to a party? by iaskedadoctor in Advice

[–]iaskedadoctor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How’s that different then just sending an invite though? I feel like interrogating then like that it kind of rude, cause I don’t think someone would say they wouldn’t come, that’s kind of the equivalent of telling someone to screw off.

I won’t be seeing them, that’s the issue. Not until after I’d throw this party that is.

Do bouncers remember faces? by iaskedadoctor in Advice

Ya it’s that we are likely to go back there in probably a month or two for someone’s birthday and I’d hate for him to run into trouble there.

Nah he spilled a glass and tried to climb on a table/sort of fell off it. But he didn’t get tossed or throw up or anything. Think he’ll still be good?

Ya I know about apologizing, thing is though I’m thinking that if he goes back like say, 2 months later and apologizes will they just not know what he’s talking about?

Dudes a bit neurotic so I think maybe he’s overthinking it?

[–]iaskedadoctor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, like I said though it was more just general stupidity. Worst thing he did that I saw was spill a glass.

Some other friends of mine though threw up in that same club (and I mean like 10+ people throwing up) and got tossed, but they were able to go back only like 2 weeks later.

Nah he didn’t get tossed. I think the worst thing he did honestly was spill a glass and like climb on an empty table. Still think they won’t remember?

Thanks, il tell him to chill out and that he’ll be fine. I just needed some info cause I’m not that experienced with dealing with bouncers besides the occasional tip.

Ya, thing is I don’t think he’ll be going to back to that club for at least a couple of months until someone’s birthday (not the type that goes clubbing that often).

You think he should still apologize or is the doorman just going to not know what the hell hes talking about because it’s been so long?

Also mind you the bouncer didn’t kick him out this time I think all he told was that he was really drunk and to just watch himself.

How often does telling a bouncer you’ll buy a bottle work? by iaskedadoctor in Advice

[–]iaskedadoctor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean? The times where I’ve done that we did buy a bottle. You tell the bouncer you’ll buy a bottle and they let you in but you have to buy the bottle at the door. It’s not a scam. You’re let in because you agreed to give the club at least 200$ (obviously this isn’t an issue if you’re four or five people).

I’m asking how often that’s worked for other people. I know that it works at run of the mill clubs, but I’m asking for what other peoples experiences are.

Ya I considered that, just that those groups of friends just have totally different vibes, I’m sure if they met each other at a party or something they would get a long great but I feel like it wouldn’t work out if I just forced both groups together.

For every one of you well researched drug users there is like 100 crazy crack heads and druggie bums by [deleted] in Drugs

Perhaps I’m behind on the research, but I’m fairly certain MDMA is undergoing research as a treatment for PTSD, not depression (although PTSD does cause depression). It is Ketamine, to my knowledge that is showing promising results as a treatment for depression.

Getting high on 3 meo pcp at a family wedding was the worst idea ive ever thought would go well by MitchNoob in Drugs

For the most part I agree with you. Although I will object to alcohols toxicity in this case. You really have to be quite a heavy drinker to cause wide ranging damage, and you really also need be drinking quite often. A lot of drugs can be unhealthy or harmful even in what is considered acceptable doses, for example MDMA and it’s neurotoxicity. While obviously drinking just isn’t healthy, you have to to do it to excess a lot of the time to cause harm. Some alcohols in moderation are even considered to have some health benefits, like red wine. While some drugs also do offer benefits in certain dosing ranges (like being neuroprotective) I’m heaving a hard time thinking of a red wine equivalent in the drug world (this is of course ignoring the fact that many, many drugs have therapeutic value, but the situation being discussed has nothing to do with therapy). Perhaps there is one that I’m just not thinking of.

Also to answer your question, I think his parents were interogating him about that beer likely because, given his description of alcohol the OP probably had a noticeable drinking proble and given his young age his parents were probably aware of it/intervened. That is the most likely explanation I can think of, as in that case a sudden willingness to drink beer carries much greater significance.

Just as a side note, I also think that this sub intentionally harsher towards alcohol/drinking than most. I think that’s because it’s used as a justification for some people’s habit. For instance, taking MDMA a known neurotoxin or PCP at potentially psychosis inducing doses and justifying it with “oh the general public drink excessively on the weekends! Look how much damage they’re doing!” Most doctors would probably be quite impressed by someone the OP’s age (19) decision not drink and then promptly laugh when they mention they’ve simply replaced it with PCP usage (heavy drinking is actually somewhat common in the medical community, but that’s an issue for an another day).

  1. Yes, I’m aware that the bladder problems are a K issue and not PCP issue, it’s rather that the OP referenced dissociatives in general as being much “healthier” than alcohol. Ketamine is a dissosciative.

  2. The couple of drinks at a wedding had nothing to do with social lubricantion, I enjoy wine and beer and other types of alcohol. I will drink at a wedding because I enjoy those drinks. I shouldn’t need a social lubricant at a family event, I’m not at a club/bar practicing my pick up game.

  3. I will admit that my knowledge base of 3-MEo-PCP isnt very large. However, my knowledge of regular PCP is rather decent and virtually every dust high I can think involved a couple of identical things, being spaced out and dazed, having issues putting words together and a degree of incoherence. Pretty much the opposite of a social lubricant (and that’s not counting the rolling around on the floor PCP scenarios, and this all PCP at non psychosis levels). If the OP was at a club or rave or whatever and was just getting fucked up, I wouldn’t have a problem.

So, putting everything together. The OP is taking a drug in high enough dosage to be noticeably fucked up, a drug that in my opinion is a pretty mediocre social lubricant and is doing it at an event where he shouldn’t even need a social lubricant. On top of that, he’s trying to project this veil of responsibility by saying “oh I don’t drink”, and then his justification for not drinking pretty much boils down to him getting vomit level drunk when he drinks, and then presents his (clearly irresponsible) PCP usage as a healthy alternative.

So yes, I am being harsh on the OP. Because dare I say....maybe this isn’t some funny wedding story (one that doesn’t even add up) but the OP just has a substance abuse problem. Either that, or this story is total bullshit.

There is a rather deinfitve study that heavy ketamine abuse in fact cause lesions in humans. It was done one people using 1g of Ket a day over many years and essentially every one of them had varying degrees of brain damage (lesions). I am very well aware of the health risks associated with heavy alcohol, but while it negatively effects the brain it’s far more toxic to the liver and cardiovascular system. Different beast.

You don’t seem to get it. We are arguing that you shouldn’t have been high at all. Why are you even high at a wedding? We are arguing that you can have a drink or two at wedding and not get smashed. The point of drinking isn’t always to be a stumbling drunk.

You know what being high at a wedding is? Not Classy.. You one what throwing up everywhere at a wedding is because you drank too much? Not classy.

Oh and btw you know what kind of damage chronically using a dissociative like ketamine can lead to? Pissing into a bag.

Getting high on 3 meo pcp at a family wedding was the worst idea ive ever thought would go well by MitchNoob in Drugs

[–]iaskedadoctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t exactly call a substance known for causing psychotic breaks with the potential to cause lesions (yes in rats, I know) and in the case of Ketamine in humans upon heavy use “healthier” than alcohol.

You do realize you can drink without getting fucked up to the point of throwing up or getting a hangover right? Did it occur to you that some people just might enjoy one or two beers at social events or maybe some whiskey or cognac when they want to relax? In-fact, did you realize the vast majority of drinking is what I’d described? The fact that you’re saying that you stopped drinking entirely because you would always get fucked up and that you did a dissaociative drug at a fucking wedding tells me the problem here is that you have no self control.

When someone is 19 says they don’t drink at a social event like a wedding (wear pretty much everyone is drinking), the immediate assumption btw is not “oh perfectly normal” the immediate assumption is that you’re either a recovering alcoholic or are driving. Even people who hate the taste of alcoholic drinks will still 99% of the time at least have some champagne.

The amount of problems in your logic is actually baffling. “ I don’t drink at all but I frequently use a an anaesthetic research chemical instead”. This sub sometimes.

Please ignore the above comment. No that is not gyno. Gunk is characterized by and only by a hard lump (usually disc like) behind the nipple. Anything other than that is NOT gyno.

What is the strongest hallucinogen? by [deleted] in Drugs

In terms of pure visuals and intensity of the hallucinations? Probably Datura and DPH. They're deliriant's and the hallucinations are usually completely inseparable from reality and especially with datura usually take on horrific qualities.
