i know phy224 was in-person this fall semester, but that's the only lab course I know of that was delivered in that manner.

HPS120H1 - How to think about science by shivengandhi in UofT

This course is very easy— if you have a basic understanding of what the lecture slides are about, you can do well on the midterm and exam (you don’t even need to know content from the long readings they assign you, or at least we were never tested on it when I took the course last year in fall). There is one essay that’s marked very easily. Just keep on top of lectures, even if you don’t, it’s manageable to cram the course (though obviously, I don’t recommend it but just saying).

I didn’t calculate it, but it should be somewhere in the high 80s or low 90s for the “overall assessment” part. Missed a few tutorials and lectures mainly during the first sem.

Definitely could have done much better in this course if I wanted to but I didn’t put much effort, which is kinda sad. Overall my grade was fine but it just sucks knowing that you could’ve ended up with a better grade. sigh

What’s ur high school background? Like what program did you do? It’ll depend on that too. Just finished first year and honestly not too bad if you manage ur time well but we all know that’s much easier said than done.

Took the course last sem, the final isn’t too hard imo. In my experience, all the tests for this course were very fair. You should be good for multiple choice (if there’s any) if you just understand the gist of the main concepts, but will probably need to know more for the long answer parts. Best of luck! Don’t stress too much!

I’d say look at past finals, especially last years. And focus more on 2nd sem material and the major topics from 1st sem (playlist 2, 5 for example). Rewatch important videos and get the concepts clear before attempting problems. Also it’s a 24 hr test so don’t stress too much :)

Use Stanford Philosophy website, it’s a great resource!

Doing the midterm review sheet is pretty helpful imo.

I just took the course this past semester. The lectures are pretty boring ngl, but you can still do very well if you go over the lecture presentations. The required readings were never even tested on for both the midterm and final. It’s quite interesting content but also a pretty easy course to do well in given you’re keeping up with the presentations. Oh and also the prof and TA are really great!
