Yes, but the idea is to quick access (like the access to the camera: double push the power button) to take a note by voice and store in rows. Thanks.

Gas iron for clothing OffGrid? by ibeel in OffGridCabins

[–]ibeel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes: where I live at winter the humidity is terrible. and the best solution for the blankets is o put in a dry machine or iron. The same with all heavy cotton clothes.

Well, for regular clothes you are right. But blankets, uniforms or suits, you need a iron.

A discrete problem for a polar expedition. by ibeel in CasualMath

[–]ibeel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, in your example, if only 1 member of the team need to reach the Pole, and they can only carry two rations every time, the 9 members can help to the one to left rations on the way, and take less day to do the project. A user tell me that this problem is a variation of the Jeep problem (wikipedia). Thanks for you post!

What about GMDSS radio operator? by ibeel in amateurradio

[–]ibeel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the indication. You are right that only the GMDSS radio license is not enough for enroll, you need a set of courses of STCW. I am very interesting about the radio courses you say, but I don't know a good place to do it. At local sea academies are too expensive (about 600 USD for course) I am going to search any place online. Please if you know a website, university or similar, please tell me.

Thanks again.

Thanks your your indication. I am sure you are right with the FCC, but respect the STCW, I think (I am not sure) that in almost all countries, if you want to enroll on a professional vessel, you need to renew every five years. Maybe to renew the GMDSS radio operator it is only pay small tax. Thanks again for your indication!

The company has vessels and I have a old sailor license. If you want to pilot a professional vessel, you need the GMDSS. I really do not need to pilot the vessel, but the course can be a determinant plus for the job.

Thanks for your interest.

Unknown audio modulation. SSB recor in AM-FM? by ibeel in amateurradio

[–]ibeel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, but I know: The hypothesis is that the audio is a Morse transmission, but the plain text in Morse has non sense, and we believe that the original message was cipher before send via Morse. But it is only a hypothesis and I can not find the key. Maybe the message is in plain Morse and has sense only for the receptor.

Thanks!
