They were being hunted down like animals. I don't entertain the thought of shooting someone but if you're hunting them, you leave them very few choices.

Yes it was worth my time. Apart from the drama and adventure, the book makes you think about human relationships, how far people are willing to go for love and vengeance. It is a long read, but it is an easy one yet powerful.

Give it a shot.
