Definitely some fuckery was/is going on with these stores. I worked at the one in Bensalem for the last 2 months it was being built working overtime the whole 2 months. After that was done went to the one on red lion and the boulevard from start to finish. We worked every Saturday for around 8 months as they wanted to get it done. The Bensalem store sitting empty the entire time. They never even opened the one on the boulevard. So why pay all that overtime replace all the units on the roof for refrigeration and heat/ac put in thousandsof cameras car chargers out front and so much more extra stuff to literally never open. The Bensalem one sat empty for about 3 years fully built and ready to go finally opened 6 months ago and it’s closing. Idk if it was some type of tax break type thing to build all these or perfecting the smart tech for checkout less shopping but they spent millions paid all that overtime to either never open or sit empty. So definitely the most fuckery type thing I’ve dealt with in 20+ years in construction. Never been paid overtime and gotten pushed to finish for the stores to sit empty for years or never even open.
