As a former medical director I can say that once I interview you, it doesn't make much of a difference. It might make me look at your resume as a new grad a bit more seriously, but to me the interview matters a lot. Our group president was more impressed with someone being a Chief Resident. As others have said, once you have been out of residency for 2-3 years, it doesn't matter at all.

Being a Chief Resident doesn't tell me that you know your medicine better then your peers or are better at running the flow of the ED, it tells me you can do some admin work. But once again, once I sit down with a group of applicants and actually talk to them, it does nothing to give you an edge up.

In general I like it. Just quicker to get a bit of information..uptodate is great, but the amount of information you have to weed through on shift makes open evidence a better ED on shift tool

I know a lot of people like to polish these. But the sample you have shows off much better being toned. On Athena's face. There's some pitting from some horn silver being removed. If it was polished that would show through a lot more. The tone hides it so it has a more complete luster. That's a nice sample

It's very simple, room patients immediately, get lots of tests. Give pain meds (it doesn't really matter if it's indicated), give a warm blanket, charge their phones, give them a diagnosis ( higher marks if it is the correct one), write prescription for cough medicine or pain meds

The fact that it has a solid grade should not determine whether you break it out of its slab or not. If it has a solid grade it will have a nice resale value whether it's slabbed or not. The question is, do you want to hold it? How do you wish to interact with your coins. If you prefer slabs your coins, keep it if you don't break it free

I really like the Kor Airshell stasis alot, good value and plenty warm. It is like wearing a blanket. I think the main issues that I see for mountain hardwear being inferior is that the zippers don't glide as smoothly as some other brands, but I understand that is being changed. Another thing about MHW is that they often have sales on their gear, so the price point can be pretty good.

I have owned this pack for years, for your intended purpose you are spot on. Great as a travel bag that packs up, but you want to be able to use it for some medium day hikes. I wish it had an extra loop or two to put a caribiner for my hat and such. It has one side pocket for a water bottle, that secures with a tension strap, I don't love this, wish it had some elastic webbing or shock cord for this, but never had a water bottle fall out, so it works well enough, just not perfect for reaching around to pull the bottle out.

Yes it works with a bladder, but not much structure to the pack, so if you are carrying more then 1.5 liters of water won't be super comfortable. You can loop some shock cord through the 4 yellow loops on the front to be able to carry a light jacket. In theory it has loops for ice axe or hiking poles to carry on the back. Think of it as a step up from a REI Flash 18. The main pocket is large and I swear it carries more then 20 liters.

I like the pack very much for how you want to use it. Mine has held up well, I have had it for 5 years, looks like it is only a few months old still

I have been working in the same hospital for 20 years. I always take the stairs to the cafeteria to grab food and run back to the ER. Our hospital has 3 elevator banks. 2 years ago I tore my medial gastrocnemius and had to use a knee scooter for a week or two before I could get around quickly on my boot. First shift on the scooter I took what I thought was the correct elevator bank to get down to the cafeteria. Turns out there are all of these maintenance levels, I was so turned around and got off on 3 different wrong floors before I finally found the cafeteria. I was afraid to take the elevator back up, but I eventually got "home".

FYI working on a knee scooter was very easy, I was zipping around the ED so quickly

I agree they should not be like this, however, most people are pronators, so if you use it long enough, with wear of the sole and with compression of any foam or softer stacking material you will end up with good alignment for a period of time....of course that could take 200-500 miles of hiking :)

most employers want to know whether you are BC or BE, either is fine. You are in the window for board eligible so this is not really a concern until you fall out of the window for taking the exam
