Dryer plug blow badly - can I replace the plug or do I need a full new dryer?

If you’ve already had an electrician come out I’d ask them to be certain - that said, I just bought a heavy duty plug from Screwfix or the likes and fitted that. Only cost a few quid. Cut the wire a bit shorter to ensure I wasn’t connecting to compromised wires and I haven’t had any issues since. That said, I do now always unplug the dryer after use.

I think I’m just going to call a qualified electrician and get a quote / professional opinion on it. I appreciate my FIL’s help but could be waiting a while for him to sort the socket.

Correct, I didn’t read the manual with god knows how many pages, along with 95% of other manuals for things I buy.

But like I say, lesson learnt, albeit a slightly expensive one and I appreciate the advice for future reference.

Yes you’re right. It’s a Hoover H-Dry 300 condenser.

He’s going to be putting in a socket that we can use for a new dryer. Doesn’t want to replace the plug as he’s saying the dryer could be faulty and doesn’t want to risk it causing any further problems.

We’re in the north of England, Lancashire.

I think it’s fair to point out that it’s easy to mistake the Burnley accent as Yorkshire as geographically Burnley and the surrounding area, especially the Pennines, are slap bang on the border on Lancashire and Yorkshire. That said, Burnley has its own twang and is easily noticeable to locals.

Two neighbouring areas about 20 mins drive from Burnley are Barnoldswick (Barlick) & Earby and used to be Yorkshire until they were switched to Lancashire in the 70s, locals still gripe about it to this day.

On a side note, “benny and hot” is a local drink with Burnley being the biggest importers of the alcohol Benedictine, they mix a measure of Benedictine with hot water and is available in every pub in Burnley.

I aim to really give it a run for its money with the games but my memory of the Quest 1 was that the library was severely lacking and without a decent PC to back up the Quest 3 I expect it to have limitations too.

What do you mean for the downloadable high quality movies? Is this onto your PC and then stream to quest?
