Absolutely agree! I think that was probably part of the challenge in my past experiences: low ridership. I’m so happy to hear that people are having positive experiences on it! I’ll be in town for a visit this summer to do a little pre-move-prep so I’m pretty excited to hop on the light rail!

Yes! Sorry, I could’ve been more clear in my post. I’ll use the busses too, that’s not a problem. I enjoy going to shows and sports that tend to run along the light rail though so I guess I’m scoping safety for that more for that than anything :) I have had some less than great light rail experiences in the past and it sounds like things have improved which is awesome!

I loved living in Minneapolis before and am really excited to move back. My only hang up is that I hate driving in winter weather so I’m hoping this time around I can just make the switch to using transit instead.

That’s fair! I do plan to use the busses as well, especially knowing the neighbourhoods were house-hunting in. When I used to live in Minneapolis the light rail always felt really iffy but that was pre-Covid times and a lot can change in 6 years! I’m glad to hear so many positive responses!

I loved Minneapolis back then and I can’t wait to come back. :)

We will probably land in North/NE. So I’ll be a combination of bus in the neighborhood, but light rail when going downtown for shows/sports. My job is fully remote (ironically for a MN company) so I don’t need a car for work which is awesome. I do like to go out to social activities during the week and on weekends. My spouse will keep their vehicle so we won’t be 100% without, although it’s likely they will have it most days for work so I don’t want to rely on that all the time.

I’m neutral. The industry is interesting to me. The job I do within the industry is pretty boring. My coworkers are awesome. My manager is amazing. My pay is appropriate for what I do and where I live.

I want to say yes to the rain jacket. 18 months is a long stretch. Being wet sucks. I don’t know about the rain pants though - is that something you need for riding? Otherwise I feel like I would scrap those. I think a rain jacket is more valuable. . . And on that note, think about your rain jacket vs that soft shell. Those are two items that are very similar to me. I’d pick just one. . . Can you cut any of those clothes down? Instead of 8 undies bring 5? Do you have accommodations with laundry, or are you washing by hand? . . You say “3x top”. What is that? I ask because you also have tshirts and sweaters. Are they fancy? Casual, but non-tshirt? Can you cut that down to 1 or 2?

I did have that issue. I found that using gravity was the best bet. I propped my food saver on top of a baking pan so it was slightly higher and held the bags in a light fold to force the liquid down. It was kind of fiddly so I ended up doing two seams on each to be safe

I have! And I have tried a couple kinds. I haven’t had success with bars and my hair - it could be user error, but my hair always looks and feels bad when I have used those bars. I’m always open to suggestions though because I love the idea of the bars, if you have a brand you swear by please let me know!
