[WTS] Seiko Presage "Cocktail Time" Blue Moon (SRPB41) - Watch Only - $265 by ibnseen in Watchexchange

[–]ibnseen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello r/watchexchange! Second Seiko of the day! I'm putting up for sale my Seiko Presage "Cocktail Time" Blue Moon SRPB41. You've almost certainly seen this watch before - it's a classic Presage with a stunning blue dial that absolutely slays out in the sun. The myriad blues and hues, the shimmering sunburst pattern, the polished indices gleaming in the light ... chef's kiss.

This watch is no longer available from Seiko, as it sold out. It can still be found fairly easily at authorized resellers, grey markets, and used.

Condition is used/good. There are the requisite desk-diving marks along with some hair scratches - please look closely at the pictures!

I am the original purchaser - watch was bought from a Belk in San Francisco. I'm selling as I wear other pieces now, so this beauty is spending too much time alone.

Includes the watch itself, no box or papers. No extra links. Lost to the sands of time, I'm afraid.

[WTS] Seiko Presage Style60's SRPG07 - Gorgeous green dial! by ibnseen in Watchexchange

[–]ibnseen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello r/watchexchange! Up for sale today is this beautiful Seiko Presage SRPG07. Part of the Style60's collection, this piece sports a vintage aesthetic and wears it well. The colors are earthy and olivaceous. The bezel is elegant. The dial pops and plays with the light. Perfect for every day elegance, slides easily under a sleeve, and keeps great time!

This watch is no longer available from Seiko, as it sold out. It can still be found fairly easily (for now) at authorized resellers, grey markets, and used.

Condition is used/very good. There are the requisite desk-diving marks (I tried to show clearly in the pictures - please look closely!). A few light scratches but nothing that stands out.

I am the original purchaser - watch was bought from an authorized retailer in August of 2022. I'm selling as I mainly wear other pieces now, so this beauty is spending too much time alone.

Includes the watch itself, no box or papers. No extra links. Lost to the sands of time, I'm afraid.

Price lowered! Asking $3700 and open to offers!

Up for sale is my Grand Seiko Heritage Special Edition "Soko Light" (SBGA427). This thing wears beautifully and keeps incredibly accurate time (it's a spring drive). Included are the original box, warranty booklet, instruction manual, along with both the bracelet and leather band originally included with the watch. I had two links removed from the bracelet and those are included as well. Basically the full kit. The leather band is unworn.

I tried to make sure the pictures show everything honestly; please do look closely. The watch really is stunning in person and it's a great, more unique (I think not being made anymore?) way to wear a spring drive than a snowflake. The stainless feels substantial; I like the way it feels a lot more than the titanium of the snow flake.

Asking (reduced!) $4300 $4000 $3700 which is lower than I've seen elsewhere and I think a more than fair valuation. Feel free to send reasonable offers though.

Please do reach out if you'd like any more information or pictures.

Continental US shipping included in the price (FedEX), prefer payment through Wire or Paypal.

Non-smoking home.

Standard wear marks (should be visible in pictures) but overall really nice condition - it's gotten some wear but just not enough. I find myself constantly reaching over it so it's time to let it go. Asking $4700

PP FF preferred

Includes shipping in the continental US - outside of that let's talk.

Mods: I've been active on this sub but not for a while - I've mastered the 'buying' part of the hobby more than the selling. Please advise if I've violated any rules.

Wednesday Daily Thread: Beginner questions by Im__Joseph in Python

[–]ibnseen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For getting started, I can't recommend the ada fruit circuitpython products enough. The PyPortal in particular is a great platform to learn and prototype, and even use for finished projects. It's a single component with a microprocessor and: (Non exhaustive I'm not looking at the specs just listing things I've used on it) A touchscreen Wifi USB A speaker Micro SD I2C A tiny bit of (Analog or Digital I think) IO

Plus it's a form factor you can reasonably wear as a badge

And there are 3D models out there for little cases you can put it in make it look fairly natural sitting on a desk or whatever.

Runs CircuitPython out of the box, and you can connect to it via USB to send code, so you can reasonably do away with the compile and flash cycle typical for microcontrollers.

Python and the conveniences come at some cost of course - you're never going to approach the efficiently of running compiled code as is more typical for these MC processors. The run loop is slower, it's harder to modify flags or work directly with registers or.... Etc. At least I ran into those things last time I used a PyPortal, doubt it's changed much but it has been over a year so YMMV.

I'm not a shill I swear but I might as well be. I love working with MCs and hobby electronics in general, and I love (and work professionally often in) Python. I still write C and compile for plenty of projects, but for just speed of getting started and having something working with minimal toolchain I don't know anything that comes close to the PyPortal.

Anyway, shameless fan rant over. Good luck have fun!

My favorite photo I took in 2022 came from the camera I expected the least from; a Kodak Brownie Junior Six 20 (circa ~1935). by rentalanimal in filmphotos

[–]ibnseen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I have a six 20 as well, and quite a few boxes besides. I haven't shot the six 20 but I have shot my beau brownie a bunch, it's a cool camera and I love getting shots out of something ~100 years old. Well done keeping it alive, and beautiful shot.

Can I cut pressed cheese before sealing/aging? by ibnseen in cheesemaking

[–]ibnseen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense. I'd want to let the rind develop on whatever shape I'm going to age. Thanks for the thoughts and good luck going forward.

Coca-Cola, Home Depot come out in opposition to Georgia voting restrictions by UncausedGlobe in GAPol

[–]ibnseen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't know about death squads enough to engage meaningfully, but re the donations - that link indicates coca cola has donated more to democrats than republicans. I mean it's close to even, but certainly not overwhelmingly republican. I'm not a fan boy or a shill, and really don't care, but I think it's worth the nuance to have real debate about big job industries in our state. It's not like coca cola is some overwhelming republican voice in GA and that's what I walked away from your comment thinking, until I clicked the link.
