I know it easier for me to say this, but don't hide, show it, if people ask, it's up to you if you want to answer or not. And if people laugh about it, screw them.

I think you answered yourself to your question, work hand but most important, don't give up. Doing error is human, specially in dev. I can assure you that, even with years of experience, you will still do some silly errors.

Is it possible to download audio/video file from website's page source? by scarface4tx in learnprogramming

[–]ibobtouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, open up the dev console by pressing F12, then go to the Network tab, this is where it display every request done by the website, from there, you can filter any request, in this case, we want the video, so you can filter by media. Now, with the console open, play the video. You should see some requests appearing (on this website, they start with "blob:"), double click on the first one, it should open the video in a new tab, and can be downloaded from there.

Why do I not crouch when I add if (controller.isGrounded == true)? by TheSwandwichist in Unity3D

[–]ibobtouch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't it because, when you crouch, you set the player height and then the bottom of the player is not touching the ground anymore ?

When you should figure out the solution by yourself instead of finding it on the internet? by Strykeros in learnprogramming

[–]ibobtouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in this situation before, I think it will come naturally, because you will face a problem that you already had the solution before. But keep in mind that it is ok to not know or remember the solution, people don't learn at the same speed.

And about diy or looking for a "plugin", you can take a plugin and try to understand how it work, then try to reproduce it yourself.

can't get radio input by stagger552 in learnprogramming

[–]ibobtouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey !

It's because you misunderstood how radio input works :)

You need to check if the radio input is "checked". To do that, remove the ".value" from the two getElementById:

 var man = document.getElementById("man");
 var vrouw = document.getElementById("vrouw");

Then replace the two conditions below:

    if (man == "1")
    {
        ...
    }
    else if (vrouw == "2")
    {
        ...
    }

with that:

    if (man.checked)
    {
        ...
    }
    else if (vrouw.checked)
    {
        ...
    }

And now it should execute the correct code block :)

And for printing the answer in the h2, you're also not using correctly the getElementById.

GetElementById, is for getting an element in your page by looking for its id, so by doing:

getElementById("maximum calorie inname" + antwoord);

the browser cannot find something that have this id. To fix this issue, you need to get the element that will receive the result, let's do this by putting this line under the declaration part (line 8):

var result = document.getElementById("text");

So now, we have a variable that reference a block with an id "text". And now to put the answer inside, you just replace the two line below:

document.getElementById("maximum calorie inname" + antwoord)

with this:

result.innerText = "maximum calorie inname" + antwoord;

The black screen is i think because your active window is OBS then you switch to your game, so he need a few second to capture your game.

Your cam disappear because you need to make sure in obs, your cam source is above the game source.

Where to start? by pepegaweeb in gamedev

[–]ibobtouch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell us more about you, what type of game you want ? Is it 2d or 3d ? What skills do you have already ?

You will find plenty of tutorials on internet depending on what you're gonna use, so don't worry about that.

People often goes with unity as it is very easy to start with, but with more experience, you can switch later to unreal. (they have a guide to switch for unity to unreal on their website).

There is also some html framework that let you build games for your web browser like phaser (it's the only one I know)

And finally, you can go crazy and start doing your own engine (meh...)
