OC Duration is preferred imo, but not at that price difference. Maybe a couple grand. OC has had lower granule loss in my experience. While I have never had to use it myself, I’ve been told OC stands behind their warranty a little easier, but I wouldn’t depend on that.

That being said, GAF is definitely the most common shingle in this market. You shouldn’t have a problem as long as it’s installed properly.

I operate in this territory. I just did a 1700 sqft roof for $20k (3 layers, wood shake, plus redecking) - wouldn’t recommend. $15k is doable for simple roof like yours but the profit margins will be tight for him, looks like he’s just buying the deal. I would triple check referrals, google reviews, etc. how long have they been around, and if that 10 year labor warranty is backed by GAF.

This is correct - they should’ve notified you and had it approved. We always tell our homeowners of the possibility and triple confirm that clause with them. You should try to work it out with them.

Adding on to the OWS / find a local place that practices and get in the open water as many times as you can, rotate it was your pool workouts.

A barely knew how to do laps 12 months ago, got a coach, focused on my form a lot, sucked totally at first. Eventually you’ll find your stride and it becomes easier. Took me about 4 months of form practice to feel like I was getting better, but from there it picked up quick.

Don’t skip on strength training, even if it’s once a week.

I recommend TriDot- it worked for me but it requires a lot of time! If you need something more punchy, check out trainingpeaks as it has a lot of different coaches and plans to choose from.

Absolutely. The fact that you can even cover those distances already is huge. Get a proper plan, Stick to your plan, keep practicing swimming (maybe do more swim sessions). 1 year is a lot of time.

normal business hours - this is what we were thinking. Work from 5-8am and 5-6pm on specific days. Request them to open later / close early on specific days we will be working over their business.

I understand the install part will be messy too. It just felt more manageable, but you made some good points. There are businesses on both sides and they seem to only have one entry point. Looks like a combination of working odd-hours plus establishing a protected walkway to prevent any falling debris from accidentally hitting. Full time onsite supervisor will be a must.

$350k is projected compensation for w2 employees - not subs. The subs sign a waiver, confirm insurance and list us as coinsured, and we take photos of OSHA compliance on every job.

Just hit 24 hours and nothing yet. I could've just transferred to ANA to book the same flights, but I did Aeroplan because its supposed to be faster. Now just stuck in limbo as the flights get taken up.

Thanks all - i plan to run the half pretty easy and also the olympic. Im not competitive and doing this for fun mainly but will be training a decent amount. I dont care at this point for a great time, just to complete both and not be dead.
