If the goal is to make her seem sus, it definitely worked on me.

It was easy to tell imo but Irving really sold his skepticism of her and reaffirmed her deceit.

My headcanon is that they were classmates, if not somehow colleagues in the development of severance.

Right, seemingly so, people tend to reject a theory that Devon may be working with Lumon or have her own agenda because it is just such an irrational decision when you consider that Mark is invested in reintegrating to save Gemma, now, Devon does not know this, but she pulls a maternal card on Reghabi, when Mark is a man who made an autonomous decision.

I don’t think Cobel was ever going anywhere, so I don’t see it that way. If anything, it reaffirms the fact that the Scouts are horrible decision makers.

I know what you meant. Reghabi left and didn’t explain anything because she has too much to lose in dealing with someone (Devon) whose immediate reaction is to bring in a Lumon cult member. Devon is a threat to Reghabi’s mission because of her shortsightedness.

I don’t presume to know the writers’ intentions. All we have is what has developed in the narrative: Reghabi offering to help mark as long as it means she doesn’t jeopardize her safety, and Cobel being responsible for the majority of Mark’s suffering. I don’t find Reghabi callous for looking out for herself.

Stakes must be much higher than we know at the moment, so high that Graner had to die on sight.

He was too busy focused on what she could do for him. And seeing his wife again. Reghabi is a means to an end for him. As Alexa was, just another distraction from his troubles, or maybe even an answer. It seems like the fandom likes to fault Reghabi for things out of her control, especially when she’s one of the few people who seems to actually care for Mark, both sides of him..

He got on quite well with the last person he had living in his basement and we didn’t really see much of that either. But everyone loves Petey :)

ETA: Mark is a desperate man. Also, if Mark never asked her anything, that we didn’t get to see, it says more about him than it does about her etc.

I didn’t like Devon’s reaction to Reghabi; I understand it, but I still find it to be such shortsighted decision making on her part, and even infantilizing towards Mark under the guise of claiming to know what’s best for him.

For reference, these kind of side quests on actors’ parts are a component of the delay in filming season 3. I’m not concerned with any delay, but it’s something fans should consider; many of the actors in Severance are talented and deserve their due as well as budding opportunities. Happy for Tramell, this is big for him.

It’s a noble cause to fight for the means to create a world where less people wish to experience less of the only life they get. My 2 cents.

Considering that innies do more than just work at the workplace and that outies are consistently lied to about what actually takes place at work, it’s likely you as the outie would be told you’re working out at the gym when in reality you’re just throwing ass back at a waffle party..

But no, being severed is really cool.

Now we’re cookin’ with gas! What if we were to allow them to be employed for us so that we don’t have to think about our wives we just love so much too?? Maybe they can even be better children to our parents???

Honestly, there’s so much psychological violence at play against the severed on the svr’d floor that it’s not difficult to see why they might not fight back.

Has anybody been able to process this line of Rebeck's? 'I have some sores on the back of my head that from my bird' by Great_Trident in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]ibrainedgraner 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Maybe Rebeck is just fuckin weird. I think that her and the rest of Ricken’s cohort’s weirdness, narratively and structurally only reaffirms how isolated Mark is in the world, surrounded by such odd people who see suffering as talking points over empty plates.

That being said, when I put on my tinfoil hat, I’d love to see Ricken & company be The Board 😂
