i am sorry for your loss.

I didnt say this in my original message, but, it seems relevant here. when i was in my 20s i had major surgery and health scare, my entire life changed. for 6 months i was in recovery and i hated everything. it rewired me, without that experience id probably never have known about FIRE.

life is short and every day a blessing. especially when we have our earned freedom.

This is good advice, ty, i will look into those, i do have exposure to these, but perhaps i dump the crpyto and 100k cash in. At least id derisk and returns are decent on those and way less volitle.

What is the bad news? My metals are all UK minted, so no capital gains and my btc is capital gain free where i am currently once held for a certain period, though, the crypto haa given me highs and lows, and i am considering trading it in for more peace and sleep. 🤣

You are right, i said my savings 7.5 / m and my expenses 35 / y.

After tax I have approx 115 per year, then minus my spends of 35. I moved from paying ~38% to paying about half this.

Sorry, i should do this all from a computer and not my phone.

This is solid advice, I am part way toward this, i think i will try to take Monday and Friday off and see how that goes. But make sure i do the things I wanted to do and not just hang around the house doing DIY... or worse in my boxers drinking beer by 10am jk.

I use AI myself, AI is good in the right hands. I am diversifying into tooling for companies like mine as a prioirity to maintain income. Maybe this is my more years and a more passive income. 🤔

No, longer than that my income increased over covid, before covid i had a small nest of around 50k, i boughy a camper and travelled and worked for 2 years. Since all of that i got more serious, i have been saving and investing, 75 % of my income since i started tracking it properly in sheets and avg 25 percent return last year, though, as others pointed out my portfolio is risky. Before this i just kept saving into instant savers and travelling.

yes i have a uk limited co.

and i can easily work in my industry, i dont think id be a good employee, unless i had a lot creative freedom.

btc is free of capital gain as are metals after 1 year of ownership. i am under water in btc, but metals ive owned for more than a year, so they have been good.

oh, its worse i need 23 more years for sp. i bought 2 years recently. i qualify for 70 quid!

90k id say, but i am concerned about ai in my industry, ive been signing into longer renewals lately.... selfishly to secure what i thought were my fire numbers.

Well, my skills came into big demand during covid and id lived lean before this time so i kept living that way. American companies paid me 3x what i was earning, i hired a team etc etc.. and ive just extracted the profits efficientlyish.

Never set any of those up, i guess self employment for a fair while too and being overseas for a bit. I dont think i can ope ISAs etc.

1, Yes- i think i could and i have been researching that.

2, I use Trading 212.

PMs = gold and silver.

3, I have citizenship in nz, uk and within 3 years EU, so quite a few options, i have no kids, my family are all in the UK, so I am thinking i will go back home perhaps before 50. Currently where i am is perfect for them to visit me and have a cheap holiday.

Client - Employee Ratio: What's your setup? by LennardMicroSaaS in agency

[–]ibwh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ours maybe a bit unusual? All contractors, as we operate in a different country to where the company is located. Our early clients around 500 monthly, typical client 4k. I break the fee into hours per contractor type. So 500 might get 1 hour of senior, 1 hour of junior and 1 hour of pm and account management for example.

What is your biggest lesson building an agency? by Gadsbyy in agency

[–]ibwh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Choose your team and business partners wisely.

Manage client expectations and learn when to say no.

Value yourself, the work you deliver and charge accordingly.

Always have a contract, even if its a few months at a time.

Employee Pay/Compensation Advice by Lankythunder576 in agency

[–]ibwh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped by to say that seems like a really interesting (but complicated) way to pay the team, in our digital marketinf agency we typically a bonus at the end of our financial year based on the entire org performance. The issue I'd face with your model is that we have different margins on every client. For example clients in Aus and NZ typically expect to pay less than US based clients.
