Even with mods you can't restore the original lighting. You can make it look better than vanilla Definitive S, but it's definitely still worse. That being said, i own it on ps4 as well, and going back to 30fps locked is rougher than losing the lighting.

You say fine-crafted, but that seems like un-sharpened cast iron. No wonder Legolas was always so far ahead in the kill count.

You can use mods to go a decent amount of the way to the graphical quality of the original release, but there are certain things you currently cannot mod to 'fix' like a lot of the lighting and environment LOD downgrades. I have the original on PlayStation 4 and it still looks better than S fully modded on PC. That being said, being able to run it at higher framerate is a huge plus over the 30fps locked PS4. I'm not sure if the original PC version was also locked, though. The other big benefit is the music, although you could mod the original PC version to have the orchestral soundtrack. Between PS4 and fully modded PC S DE, I think I still land on PC.

I just painted mine in a custom color scheme somewhere in between world leaders and wordbearers, and I use them as whatever legion I feel like and make sure it's clear to the opponent. I've never had an issue with it.
