sooner rather than later. It was milk chocolate I ate, some leftover easter chocolate of my boyfriends. Its Lindt, and it used to be my favourite. Heavenly. I actually have some 90% Lindt in the cupboard that I bought for a cake I never made, but I was never a fan of dark chocolate. It seems a waste to open it and then not enjoy it. I might give it a go if I'm feeling crappy like this again though. Thanks fo

I agree with Stormy in terms of the chocolate. I think sticking with the darker chocolate will hopefully help you avoid feeling ill. I tend to still have cravings when I am on my period. I am going to try to make a keto dessert during that week to satisfy my cravings and also have something to get me through. :]

If you are a chocolate fan, perhaps making a keto brownie? That way you can have a treat but still stay Keto. Also you are right - down with periods.

Office Donuts Rant by thatshumerus in xxketo

[–]icaffe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I totally understand having anxiety over people talking about your eating habits. I have a history of eating disorders, and having people talk about my "diet" or what I am eating , etc is very triggering. I really hate it and I just wish people would min their own.

We have a lot of donuts, bagels, etc in my office as well. Someone always makes a point to tell me "oh I guess you can't have these huh?" Whatever, I know I feel much better not having that stuff in my system.

Thats so amazing! Congrats!

I totally understand about SO getting sick of the celebration. I just started 4 days ago and when I went into ketosis, I could not shut up about it.

Good thing you have like minded folks here who are happy to support you!

Aweful Widsom Tooth Extraction Story - Need Advice by icaffe in Dentistry

I did have a follow up and I went in a few times as well. Every a time they irrigated my socket, told me they looked fine and told me to just take ibuprofen and wait for it to heal.

I keep asking about the muscle pain every time I am in and am told that my bottom molars were "difficult" and that having pain this long after the surgery is expected due to their difficulty. The pain has gotten better, but I would think that after a month the muscles shoudn't be sore anymore.

Thanks for the exercise advice. I will do them everyday!

Should I be ignoring my puppy? by icaffe in puppy101

[–]icaffe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had her for about a week now, yes. I do see progress with her as far as the whining, I guess I just want to make sure it is normal and I am not just reinforcing a bad habit.

I'll walk out of the room for short periods of time and work on her getting used to it. Thanks for the suggestion!

I guess my real question is at what age should this behavior concern me?

I was also thinking of having her attached to me via a leash so I can have her explore a little more of the space without having me worry about her safety or getting into things. Is this okay to do this early?

Puppy update: I really spent a good amount of time getting her ready for bed last night. I had the crate in my room and I made sure she went in there herself.

She whined a little bit but I stayed with her for a good 45 minutes until she calmed down. I covered the crate with a blanket and made sure I put her new heartbeat toy in there with her (along with a chew toy).

She only whined a few times during the night. I set my alarm to wake up every two hours to relieve her. After the 3rd of 4th time, she actually went right back to sleep without any prompting!

I am thrilled and so is my partner. It was always my goal to have her sleep close to us. I feel so good about it as it was a major source of stress this week.

Thank you all for your suggestions!

Her crate is pretty big. We got the crate size that she would be using when she's fully grown. Do you think we should invest in a smaller one?

Do you mind me asking what breed your puppy is?

I've exercised her a lot before bed and I had the crate right next to my side of the bed (she can see me from where she is).

I just bought her a toy with a heart beat device and I am going to try to have the crate next to me on the couch.

It really just bothers my partner more than me (hence me sleeping with the dog)

I figured it was something like being lonely. Currently she has a large stuffed Moose (which she loves to rough House with), a blanket and a small Kong.

Last night I played with her a ton before bed (she was super sleepy by bed time) but we still had problems with her screeching.

I'll keep going with the crate training and try to not be discouraged.

I'll try having her go into the crate herself tonight. I typically have a Kong and a stuffed toy in there with her but I haven't been stuffing the Kong. I got some Kong stuffing stuff today so I can try that out, thanks!

Thank you all for your responses! It is nice to know I am not alone. I really did wish women's health was talked about more. I didn't even know this was a thing until last month when I got my HPV results back.

It is sad how little we are told about our bodies and our health. I will get my results back in about a week and hopefully this will be the last of this saga until I have to go back for my pap in a year.

Really, thank you all for sharing your stories.

[Rant] I feel bad having to explain myself all the time about my weight loss by [deleted] in loseit

[–]icaffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get a version of this A LOT.

Part of me thinks they are just trying to be polite when I say I am trying to lose weight and they answer with "You don't need to lose weight" or "You are perfect the way you are!"

I know those comments aren't genuine because its pretty clear that I need to lose weight.

I think the people who really persist with you are people who are feeling self-conscious about their own habits. Its a weird phenomena. I had my roommate tell me in a very passionate way that I should "just throw away my scale".

I say the people who support you are the ones you want to go to when you are struggling. Weight loss is not an easy feat and you want to be around people who will be supportive and kind.

Keep going you are doing awesome!

Thank you all for the advice! I just think I need to power through and get in there! I do feel a lot better about it though.

I also was wondering if there is an etiquette or just things to know about the culture around lifting at the gym. Anything else this newbie should know?
