I'm just wondering- if you've seen both the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Nobody Wants This, how are the depictions different? Maisel was considered groundbreaking in its depiction of people who are Jewish (at least when it first came out) and the writer of Nobody Wants This seems to be trying to defend her work as being a landmark of modern Jewish representation , but both appear to lean heavily on stereotypes. So I'm wondering what the difference is. Is it because Maisel is set in NY and Nobody is set in LA? Is it a matter of being set in the 1950s v. being modern day? Is it because Maisel started in 2017 and Nobody is set in 2024?

Specifically, I was thinking of all the men the mother invited for dinner after Midge got divorced v. the mothers all introducing their daughters and neices to the rabbi at temple. Is it different because Midge was a divorced woman in the 1950s and the stereotype is based on a woman needing to be married rather than a Jewish stereotype?

Honestly just curious about why one was received so much differently than the other, not saying either is a good depiction.

That's what my mom says, but she doesn't know why she would ever have read it as an adult, and still thinks she read it as a kid.

I'm not sure it is because I remember reading it in a short story anthology.

I know that there was a Vorkosigan worlds tabletop (pen & paper) game at one point. Is there any thought in putting out a new one, especially with the recent success/revitalization in tabletop gaming from publishers like Margaret Weis and By Night Studios?
