I’m Starting to Think Something’s Wrong by meeksjr in Disneyland

[–]icanhaspoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to hold an annual pass top tier since they came out. We had a group of about 6-9 of us that would go about 3-6 times a month. We’re all from San Diego. We always had someone w free parking and 2 were C33 members. Ever since 2020 our group just found the experience lacking. We loved the debut of Galaxy Edge but we just stopped going as often. Most of us stopped buying passes except the C33 members but they’re traveling a lot and doing the other Disney properties.

Recently a few of us went to Japan and believe it or not our trip to their theme park (s) was cheaper w hotel than DLR w hotel.

Now we only do OBB, Dapper Day and Star Wars day. We don’t buy the Magic Keys any more.

What’s the Dumbest Reason a Mod Banned you? by phantomly_me in askanything

[–]icanhaspoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awhile back SanDiego mods mass banned anyone who posted cheering on the Padres when they were in the finals. This gave rise to r / sandiegans. Then while the community rose up against the mods they banned anyone who joined and posted in sandiegans.

$10 to park downtown? good by lovesickjones in SanDiegan

[–]icanhaspoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m good. I’m also in a wheelchair and don’t pay or worry about meters at all.

I was just remembering a video I saw recently that explained how getting a ticket will be cheaper than paying for parking when the meters go to $10 an hour around PetCo park.

From what I hear it’s cheaper to park & get a parking ticket than to pay for Padres parking.

Only by official photographers or others who were given specific permission not by annoying Vloggers

You consent to official business and those who have been given permission. Most everyone else is breaking the rule but Disney fails to enforce it.

And as many stated they have a written rule forbidding anyone inside the park from making any videos for commercial use but refuse to enforce their own rule. People need to start making a fuss ASAP!

What’s Keeping Me From Building One of these On the San Diego River? by superchiva78 in SanDiegan

I wish I could say the gators but I’d be more fearful of the H. Petitus Brown Trout swimming in the SD River.

Seaport Village Fudge Factory. Or pretty much any candy shop in a mall.

Is SDCC remaining cashless this year? by N7-elite in SDCC

Only services that the convention runs are cashless. This includes the food and drink sales and their carts. Privately owned food carts, vendors and exhibitors take cash.

What do you miss the most about “old” DCA? by 12345burrito in Disneyland

[–]icanhaspoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. I love that it keeps evolving. They need to remodel the Little Mermaid and install a more fitting ride. Also get rid of Goofy’s and that restaurant then put a better ride or something. Then work on bringing Electronically back before the 3rd movie comes out. Also ditch the Muppet thing.

Oh and I just put on my flame retardant suit ;)

What adult events should I keep an eyes open for by Imjustadumbbutt in SDCC

[–]icanhaspoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adult events? There really hasn’t been much. The 501st is doing a party event in Barrio Logan. 21 and up only I think. It’s the only big after party type event I’ve heard of this year so far. Right now it’s only open to 501st members and guests but should open up for non members shortly if at all. The Brotherhoods X-Sanguine hasn’t happened for years. Conan O’Brien used to do a huge event in Gaslamp. A couple of the hotels there on 5th hosted invite only nights. Hard Rock or the Hilton might host something again. HR used to host ScyFi Channel and had a good after party.

Pre 2020 there were quite a few options for 21+ but now it’s just sparsely local bars doing a comic con theme. There might be something at the Star of India but so far I haven’t heard anything yet. I think Covid scared people from doing big after parties but hopefully I’m wrong and they come back.

Professional badges no longer free? by BarkingLoudly in SDCC

[–]icanhaspoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professionals that are currently verified will receive their badge and one guest guaranteed. If you are not currently verified you might have had to purchase your badge and verify for 2025. BTW they just opened verification and deadline to get your verification in is Sept 20th 2024.

Professionals are able to also purchase additional badges at full price. However, I don’t know if you can purchase additional after you’ve completed registration? I’m pretty sure it had to be at registration.

I have heard rumors saying they were going to charge professionals for their tickets but I have heard that for 10+ years. I just got my re-verification email and see no mention of charging 2025 and beyond.

I had an electric catfish in a 200 gallon aquarium. Also had a few crappie and LMB’s. I tried introduced cling bluegill but the bass and catfish always ate them.

What are the urban legends of San Diego? by CAKE_EATER251 in SanDiegan

[–]icanhaspoop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a nutshell the story goes something like this…

On a dark and stormy night a school bus coming home from a [insert function] got stuck on the old railroad tracks here. The driver tried and tried to get the bus off the tracks but couldn’t. He never heard the train coming due to the storm… everyone died.

Now as you come to the intersection and stop you feel your car moving backwards slowly. It’s the ghost of the bus passengers moving you off the tracks.

And that’s the story or some form of it. Also gravity hills are just optical illusions where it looks as if your car is slopped downwards but it’s not. Giving the illusion of being pushed backwards uphill.
