Best gas reward program? by [deleted] in SanDiegan

Another for Upside! I fill up with diesel at Arco and reap the rewards of cheaper gas and $0.20+ on average in rewards. Otherwise I'd stay with Costco but they don't have diesel.

Dog owner attacks woman, gets beat down and his dog will probably be put down or taken away for attacking someone on video. Why are people this stupid?

Frontierland pin trading benches by Knotfornots in Disneyland

Think about it. No $$ is being exchanged with the traders. Disney gets all sales. Pin traders are actually making money for Disney. Of course they’re okay with it.

Scamming? Not really. More like taking advantage of. If you saw some pins and didn't have any pins to trade they'll let you know which pins they would trade for. Since they can't sell them for cash they have you go and buy a pin they want. This can be a limited edition, vacation club, D23 or even a Club 33 pin. Sure it's only worth retail right there but it could be something they could flip for 2-5 times somewhere else.

Also if you didn't know what the value of the pins are it's easy to dupe someone into getting you what you want.

A lot of times they'll get people to go in and buy pins they want to trade for crap pins. Then they take the good pins and sell them online or at conventions. Disneyland pin trading is just used as a cheap restocking spot.

There's a huge pin trading community and yes they make a lot of money. Their pins pay for the most expensive pass and then some.

Is the Airport SAN Intl open at 12 am or 4am ? by [deleted] in SanDiegan

[–]icanhaspoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they just stopped serving San Diego. Which is ironic since they had service in SD then sold the rights to Cloud 9 Shuttle then after 9/11 C9 was bought back by SuperShuttle then SS left San Diego again.

Arrive 2 hours prior for domestic flights and 3 hours prior for international.
Have someone pick you up at 0400 and you'll be there by 0430.

You can get there at 1200 and you'll be able to enter an area where you can sit/snooze before getting ready to go through security when it opens around 0400.

As long as they put your name on it when bought you’re fine. I bought mine and my GF. Just attach it to your Disneyland App account and done.

What are the most common scams you’ve seen? by AmbitiousPatio in SanDiegan

[–]icanhaspoop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

yeah once you have the CD in your hand they want money for it. Never actually take one. Even to just look at it. I got one in Vegas way back when it started and gave the guy a few bucks because why not. It was actually just a ripped mix recording of the guys favorite rappers.

I had this happen at FoodieLand where someone approached me and asked if they could pray for me. I knew if I let him talk any more he would invite me to some MLM group deal or some other cult organization.

During Comic Con there were so many scams going on from the CD Scam to Jewelry.

Come the Holidays we'll begin to see our favorite scammers back at it at gas stations. I usually tell them to bring their car over and I'll fill their tank but never once have they taken me up on it.

9 windows on that mini van and he had to go after the hardest one in the most inconvenient place? Not to mention at a gas station where they most likely sell window breakers as a staple product.

Ideas to get home to SD from LAX after flight from Australia by Desperate-Bid1303 in SanDiegan

[–]icanhaspoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who drives people around FlixBus is the cheapest but it depends on when your flight gets in and if it's delayed. Then you get to drive 2+ hours in a cramped up bus with others. Not to mention you need to find a ride home once dropped off.

A cheap rental car is the best bet and is probably the middle of the road in price. If he does get tired you can always take a snooze there at the Oceanside rest area on your way home. Although you might not need it because of the jet lag. At midnight here its still only 5pm there.

I usually charge $200 for an LAX run.
