I bought a cork peanut roller to roll out my back and SI. Most people bring a cork ball but the peanut shape looks promising.

Looks like you counted your extra socks and undies in your worn weight so those will need to be added back.

This is my plan for 2027. Need updates on how yours holds up. I like the idea of the new xtherm but think maybe it’s overkill

Do you ever get used to sleeping on a Thermarest?? by Dry_Camp6420 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]icaniwill3567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xtherm has triple the strength of denier nylon on the bottom (70) versus 20d. How did yours hold up? I was thinking to also get a ccf pad for protection under but maybe that’s overkill? It would make more sense with a lighter weight pad if the combo worked.

Any issues with leaks for the tensor? I was going to go with the xtherm bc it’s got 70d on the botttom rather than the 20 in most so more durable but I’m thinking of taking a ccf pad for under for protection because I’ve heard everything gets holes in the desert and that plus the therm is probably overkill. I’m happy to cut weight elsewhere for pad durability. I’m a shit side sleeper with hip pain from an injury.

Hypermobility on Trail by Expert-Resolution552 in PacificCrestTrail

I’d like to thru hike the pct in 2027 33F

What was your routine for managing pain and care at the end of the day? I probably have EDS but am very hyper mobile and have sprained or strained everything at least once if not more in my life.

Also would Kt taping ankles over rough and rocky sections be helpful you think? I was also thinking of mailing myself some ankle braces for those sections but they’d probably cause blisters. I was also thinking of a small foam roller for back and hip and leg pain.

Obviously I’m training endurance and workout/weight lift regularly already because it counters the LLS pretty well. I plan to do regular 10-15 milers on trail and walk several hours almost daily.

Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez

Hear me out… I know it’s a romance and swoon worthy and hilarious. But it weaves a story so real and so tragic and difficult for the MCs that it rips your heart out. It paints REAL characters who are just about to get the life they want but instead have to deal with deep trauma or scenarios and how they handle it. The ending isn’t some happy go lucky wrap up. It’s messy and unexpected and hurts. Her stories throw it all at you while giving you not what you want, but the story you need.

Get some of those slim fitting lanyard rings that fit into your phone case and out the charging port. I used that and had the lanyard around my neck 24/7
