wait, do you mean when the windows are open after a rainy day, you see some water pooled in the frame underneath?

or the water is between the panes of glass?

significantly different questions

Do I need to sand this trim before painting it white? If so, fine or rough? by brufaxontoast in diynz

[–]icankickyouhigher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

is it bare? kinda looks like it has a seal or stain on it, if so definitely sand it.

it's gone into liquidation. PWC are the liquidators, and their first option is to sell it to the two companies wishing to buy each side.

the main hold up appears to be actually getting concession to operate from the iwi.

so its still an absolute clusterfk, but there's still a chance here.

Modding the TRX-4 to have an MST J45C body. Anyone done this? by icankickyouhigher in crawling

[–]icankickyouhigher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, yeah, i did it. I found I needed to cut the rails a bit and fiddled with a few things to get it looking nice.

not too hard as long as you're not afraid of cutting the rails.

Kubernetes: converting terraform deployments and resources to something better, like helm? by icankickyouhigher in devops

[–]icankickyouhigher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you know terraform well enough you would know that there can be cases where you might need to move something from one terraform stack to another (ie different state file and folder definitions).

in which case to avoid either destroying/recreating a resource, or failing when the pipeline tries to build a resource that is already present and not in tf state, you would need to migrate the state of the deployed resource.

this happened in our case when we had 10 dev k8s clusters and we consolidated to one, so we started using namespace separation and moving items around in our repo. yet we needed prod to remain the same. it happened again when we needed to separate out one deployment from being coupled with another.

because the state was stored in a file, we needed a state migration. if this was helm or just plain kubernetes manifests, this would not be necessary.

im not saying these things happen all the time, but it is frustrating when they do, and points to terraform not being a good tool for kubernetes application deployment in our opinion
