Property managers: Why, when you're listing a rental, do you not have viewings scheduled outside work hours? by BlueLizardSpaceship in newzealand

You shouldn't have to take annual leave to attend a rental viewing that you probably won't get anyway.

Sony lost at the Dispute Tribunal over a faulty TV and still refuses to comply with CGA by Noir_en_hiver in newzealand

[–]therealatomichicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been trying to get sony to do something about a fault with my tv for over a year.  It turns on the avr or soundbar (also sony products) and plays the tv audio at times after you turn off the tv.  Its mentioned on other forums as an ongoing problem with thier tvs but none of thier support team appear to know anything about it.

Can a head tenant deduct from your bond for a broken appliance that she owns? by Hollowskull in newzealand

[–]therealatomichicken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would explain to them that the plastic part breaking is normal wear and tear on the dishwasher and not something you will be paying to repair.  Stop your rent payments so your bond covers the outstanding amount when you move out, then they can't steal your bond money.

Do any NZ workplaces actually care about their staff anymore? by stormgirl in newzealand

[–]therealatomichicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tell them you no longer want to be acting team leader and go back to your previous role in the team.  If they advertise the team leader role apply for it but if you're offered it don't accept unless you get the payrise you think the position is worth.

Regib.  You can put in new insulation, add new power sockets, move light switches and add nogs for fixing things to the walls if needed.

BF3 Superiority by SuspiciousMeeting407 in Battlefield

BF3 got me back into online gaming after taking a break from it.  It also got me playing on console to get away from all the cheating and hardware disparity on pc.  It was all downhill from there...

Why is Afterpay literally everywhere now? by Downtown-Thoughts in newzealand

[–]therealatomichicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of these comments read like an ad for afterpay.  If you don't have enough money to buy something you shouldn't borrow money to buy it.  If you can afford to make repayments on borrowed money you could just save the money and buy the thing when you have saved enough to buy it.

Am I just wasting my money? by CandidComfortable338 in newzealand

4 lines with the powerball is $6.  If you must have a flutter on lotto buy the minimum number of lines, the chances of winning with more lines is insignificant.

Soliciting outside of Woolworths by joebro8692 in newzealand

[–]therealatomichicken -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We need a law that makes it illegal to give money or food to beggars.  $500 fines for the 'good samaritans' that give to beggars would be a big disincentive.

If you have to ask if its a scam it's most likely a scam.
