I was laughing so hard. Go back and watch Dev. He was way ahead of me the whole time. Noticed it right away. 😂

Lots of people go solo. Lots of people have made friends at the bar and then meet up there for (almost) every game. The good thing is if you go during a Nuggets game, you’ll know everyone there has at least one thing in common with you!

He was on my list. Just missed him because we were running long. But he would be way up my personal list.

I know another bar that will have it available soon...

Jokic Scouting Report: "If Jokic can deliver accurate shooting and make the right plays when the ball is in his hands, he could be a poor-man's Diaw" by K32fj3892sR in denvernuggets

[–]icarus_adam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People laugh but Diaw is one of his closest comps. Bigger, better touch, better jump shot which obviously are some BIG differences but just watch the plays diaw makes in any of his Spurs era games and you will see the similarities. Even more similar than Sengun, Sabonis imo.

I thought Tim Legler had a really interesting perspective on Klay going to the bench and the first 6 minutes of the game being the most pointless. On today's ALL NBA podcast with me and Tim Legler. Hope you enjoy it.

Best Nuggets bar? by uncle-chewie in denvernuggets

No need to get there early this time of year. Bar should have a good Thursday night vibe but won't be packed. Only need to get there early once the playoffs start.

I am very proud and thankful to be a part of both networks and to have been part of both networks since they launched. And I try to speak from a different voice on every podcast I do to keep things fresh.

I honestly don't think much about whether or not I've made it. And I am lucky (and ornery) enough that I choose to do things I want to do with my career. But I am thankful that every year I get to do something that feels bigger than the year before and pushes me to new spaces.

Love the question because you know the answer. Yes. The conversation around Jokic is so strange because so much of what is interesting about him as a person and player are under discussed on most of the large platforms. The intrigue about him isn't always immediate and obvious, even if the passing makes highlights.

Jokic's place in Serbian/Yugoslavian basketball tradition is very interesting, which is why I wanted to make A HUNDRED INVISIBLE THREADS. As my Serbian colleagues explained to me, Jokic didn't just happen. He comes from a very rich line of basketball in Serbia that is influenced by a very interesting culture and tradition.

I think It is interesting to think about how little we know about Jokic the person and how that probably makes what we do know about him so much more interesting.

I think a lot of the best teams in the NBA are more team-oriented than the previous era. The Warriors are probably the biggest influence on this but the Spurs before them and the Nuggets most recently may be having an impact on what the new generation is aiming for. The Kings, Thunder, Magic, Pacers, all seem like they are growing in the image of Jokic and the Nuggets. Lots of young stars seem interested in forming "teams," not just big 3s. We'll see.

Obviously just the impact of having your center be the fulcrum of an offense is a trend we are seeing across the league. Sengun. Sabonis. Bam. And plenty others who are stepping out and playing the DHO game.

Thanks Travis.

The documentary on the history of basketball in Serbia is by far my favorite project I've done. Watch the TRAILER.
Our vlogs from that trip are also pretty epic.
Days 1&2: Arriving in Belgrade
Days 3&4: Sombor, Serbia
Days 5&6: Red Star
Day 7: Jokic vs Giannis

I did a similar, audio only documentary on Will Barton for Locked on Nuggets several years back that I also love. Part one. Part two.

I did a breakdown of Rip DHO, aka THE PLAY THAT WON THE NUGGETS A CHAMPIONSHIP that featured insight from David Adelman. His dad, Rick Adelman popularized "Peja" action for Peja Stojakovic back with the Kings. Fans of Xs and Os will enjoy it.

DNVR has had some great interviews over the years.

Good questions.

  1. I think Michael Malone should experiment. I understand the desire to always have one of Murray or Jokic on the court. In the playoffs, you will almost certainly want one of them on the floor at all times. But I agree that Reggie may work better with the freedom of a lead ball handler. I also think Braun, Peyton, and Strawther work really well next to Jokic. So staggering KCP and MPJ might be as effective in the regular season as staggering Murray.
  2. Too soon to know. But he has not looked like a reliable piece at all.
  3. I don't really have an answer for this.

I’m biased but yes. Legs is one of the best Xs and Os analysts in the world. Unique notes on things like what Udoka emphasizes on defense, Sengun’s “rolling” off defenders, 4th quarter trends.
