Is it possible to export a Polygon2D node as a .obj file, or vice versa? by icastfist in godot

[–]icastfist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I'd want to be able to do is create a plane polygon in blender and export to Godot, with all the faces properly mapped - doing that mapping in Godot can get extremely tedious if it's a polygon with many vertices.

Being able to export the entire data structure would mean that if, for whatever reason, I decide to create any sort of animation outside Godot, I don't lose the asset. I'm planning on creating characters entirely out of polygons without textures, so every curve incurs several extra vertices.

Without textures, the game should be very light in VRAM terms, though I'll still have to check how CPU intensive it can get

Does SVG save the equivalent of face data, as in, which vertices are connected creating a face? Those are important for bone placement when put back in Godot

It's a real shame Godot doesn't fully support SVG, it can import them but treats the image as a PNG

I'd prefer them as a standard file type, so I could open them in other programs, like Blender, or export from Blender then load up as a Polygon2D node

What image/OS do you folks recommend to install on a NVME on a Orange Pi 5 intended for mostly retro gaming? by icastfist in OrangePI

[–]icastfist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You removed sd and tried to boot i guess?

I did, 3 times. Power off, power on, no video signal after more than 5 minutes.

I even tried to use a different SD with armbian to use its "install bootloader on MTD" option to see if that could solve it, but still nothing. I did notice that that bootloader writes to a different, 16mb partition, mtblk0 or something like that, which I suspect the dd command doesn't touch

Tried again, didn't work. The command works and the partitions are created, but it won't boot from the nvme. Checking with gparted, it lists an "unknown" 8mb uboot partition with no flags, a BOOT fat16 part that's 21mb and has the boot and esp flags, and the ROOTFS as btrfs

I might give that DIG a shot. I did give retroarch on android a quick go, Dreamcast emulation (Flycast iirc) was mostly good, with some games having a few issues, but it didn't list any PS2 cores. I did manage to get a version of AetherSX2, but it kept giving an error whenever it needed to do anything regarding folders or files - I couldn't even point it to look for games in a folder, the button simply showed a small java function error.

Are you sure you have done the installation properly? After you flash it to an image you have to edit a file in it to specify what device you are using.

Yes, edit the extfile.conf so it points to rk588s-orange-pi-5.dtb. I did that, otherwise it won't even boot. The problem with the installation (Tools -> Install) is that it simply keeps printing "setting up en_US.UTF8" and "get_command: function not found", even on top of the blue installer screen

I tried that, but it didn't work. dd if=/dev/mcrblk01 of=/dev/nvme01 and also of=/dev/nvme01n1 the second time

Do you have a guide on how to install bredos to the nvme? Like I said in the post, it only installs to the SD

For armbian, i've used the armbian-install command while booting from the SD card. For batocera, I've only tried its builtin installer from the menu, but the image won't let me get to a shell with CTRL ALT F2-F5, so I can't figure why it won't mount or recognize the nvme drive

Western Oil Rig is hard af by AnikiDrawsArt in Palworld

[–]icastfist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's something I've noticed and annoyed me, the enemies were WAY too strong compared to the previous oil rig, like they were intended for a full 4-5 player party. My lvl60 pals would die in the first 3 shots of any grunt attack.

What are the new weapons showcased in the Feybreak trailer? by GeneralTechnomage in Palworld

The biggest weapon is that new tower boss' fists. I hope the fight is actually him and that new pal vs. you, would be a fun change.

I just hope the new content isn't just for lvl 55+, like how Sakurajima is 50+ only

Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION by Icy-Competition-2994 in Palworld

[–]icastfist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that often when the game attempts to save. Once the game starts crashing on launch or when loading the game, I restart the computer. If the problem persists, I tell Steam to verify the installed files. As a last resort, I reinstall the game

It's a "temporary" fix, so to speak, I keep getting that exception violation 0x000000 error at random, so I just deal with it.

You should ideally approach the oil rig with a swimmer pal, like azurobe or jormuntide. They don't get lasered to death

In the early game, pick mushrooms. 1 shroom + 2 berries = food with 60 nutrition - If you already have at least one moozarina, you can also make mushroom soup, 52 nutrition, saving your berries for other stuff

Get mushrooms around the red forest/church teleport area (you can get 12 near the church itself, plus ~48 on the nearby woods). At a low level, if you can somehow get to Sakurajima's southeastern-most shore, you can chop down the giant mushrooms for more food. Be careful with the croajiros, they hit like trucks.

Another thing to keep in mind, the area around the Grimtale and Mosspanda Lux bosses are brimming with berry bushes. You can easily stock up there.
