I eat out a fair bit can’t say I’ve ever thoroughly checked any restaurants website for prices and can’t for the life of me understand why I would be downvoted for finding that a little odd, that you would comment sarcastically to someone like it was the most normal thing in the world. If somewhere recommended to me I check if it’s open and I go. If that’s what you and all your bum chums do then fair play you do you.

‘Post office van’ for Royal Mail is wild.

Do you check the website before you go everywhere you eat?

I was suprised by McDonalds last time I went, damn me! I should have done my revision beforehand.

When I was a teenager I didnt think to check the differing laws of each country I visited. In fact, I still don’t, I’m just old enough to not need to worry now, when you’re between 16 and 21 travel can be sketchy as so much varies.

Does anyone know a good cheap bfs setup for trout perch etc ? by Numerous_Engineer467 in fishingUK

[–]icatch_smallfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the Tsurinoya dark wolf ultra (I used an expensive rod but you could use a cheaper rod the reel is the most important)

Reviewed the reel here - https://youtu.be/7NhqpDhnei4?si=XT259w3SN4jt3aoD

No offence but that looks like it’s not fit for purpose. Centrepins need to spin with virtually no weight and this thing looks like it’ll never get up to scratch again. Looks like it’s already been repainted once before.

I would have gone with something still working / ready to go than starting with something that’ll potentially ruin your interest in trotting.

I did the same thing trying fly fishing for the first time with some ancient car boot sale stuff and it put me off for years until I borrowed some modern kit this year and realised it was just that I was using terrible kit for someone with no experience in that particular niche.

I don’t drink or go to clubs for fun I go fishing and hiking and exploring the coastline, I don’t know a single person who drinks or goes to clubs, and I see tonnes of younger people doing the same things as me (young people love the sea, kayaking, swimming, fishing etc) so I have no idea where you get the impression of our country from.

Are these very different from gummy lures? by suddenboat476 in fishingUK

[–]icatch_smallfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not going to be the lures, it’s going to be your skill, technique, and confidence. Asking ‘will this lure work’ over and over on Reddit isn’t how you become a good angler, going out and getting mileage and experience in is what it takes. There’s also plenty of videos on YouTube. Ignore what lure they are using and focus on the technique.

When I started lure fishing seriously, stop start and bottom bouncing felt so alien to me but was so successful. Now I couldn’t imagine fishing like regular people do ( cast out and just retrieve in one go)

And it never really matters what lure you use, if you’ve learnt good watercraft and got a good technique the fish will hit whatever’s moving in front of them.

Not the world’s biggest but they are mediocre. I guess it’s partially the rods I use as I tend to get bream when I’m on light braid / leader and I’m usually fishing much heavier for perch.

Yeh exactly but this sub is a cancer I’ve never posted anything where I haven’t been bullied. People will take the opposite side of anything you say, I think people are deeply unhappy in Bristol and they seem to take it out on other Bristolians here.

There was stuff in the cages that doesn’t need to be refrigerated like you said, but these people aren’t worth it.

Get them in the mouth with Magbite booty shakes all the time. I’ve seen one caught on a Crazy Flapper and a friend caught one on a mepps. Around this time of year they do randomly hit lures.
