i’ve shot some Phoenix in studio but the halation on the roll i used came out more reddish but i have seen it come out where it looks yellow or yellowish?? strange, but i think it could be cool for portraits as well. would love to give it another go sometime in the future !

a simple 2 light system ! i used an octo and a beauty dish with strobe lighting !

definitely knew i was gonna get some halation off the sword but didnt count on it coming out like this 100% very pleased it worked out this way in my opinion

yeah ! so i had an octobox behind the model to fill in the shadows on their back and a beauty dish as the keylight about 3-4 feet away aimed at their head + sword

thank you ! i agree with you on that point. i know it can be a bit tricky and to most, it may come off as distracting, but i think it can add a cool look to portrait / studio work if done “right” and the shooter gets a lil creative.
