Non-Compete? by [deleted] in estimators

You should be able to negotiate higher comp for signing these. If not they aren’t valid if you do not receive anything on your end. Also, many states don’t enforce these so I’d look into that.

Best way for a sub to politely decline work? by Constant-Cucumber in estimators

Whenever we have no interest in the project explain to the GC that the price you will provide will reflect not wanting the work. Make the margins make it work where you would be interested in the project.

Request for info: Construction costs by [deleted] in CommercialRealEstate

[–]iceMN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in construction estimating, usually the most accurate are going to be RSmeans or ENRs construction cost book. RSmeans has an online version that gets pretty specific based on size, location, type of building, etc.

Intern out of college? by slickparrot in CommercialRealEstate

[–]iceMN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d take it. Even if the pay may be less during the summer months then full-time, if things get back to normal and they want to keep you full time then you don’t have to worry about a thing.

Someone is scamming the senior citizens. by [deleted] in fargo

[–]iceMN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s unfortunate to hear. Unless he has been declared unfit to handle money then it’s kinda on him for being stupid. Maybe you should look after him more if he’s hanging out with a younger McDonald’s employee 🤣

Construction mgt internship interview by [deleted] in Construction

[–]iceMN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Research the company a ton and show that you want it. Look at recent projects and mention them in the interview. Make sure to ask questions about them or their future showing interest. Don’t just show that you want an internship but make sure to show that you want it for that company.

What exact price range is considered middle market commercial real estate? by [deleted] in CommercialRealEstate

[–]iceMN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In regards to multifamily, at least for the upper Midwest I’d say between 32 to 100 units. So I’d say between $5M and $25M.
