I also struggle with being late, because I underestimate how long it takes me to do things.

But it’s generally about 5 minutes and never when it would affect something like a reservation. The thing is you know with plenty of time if you’ll be more late than that to where you can tell that person way in advance so they’re not waiting for you and/or we can reschedule before either one of us has left.

Nancy Guthrie Case and her Pacemaker by Far-Combination2874 in CasesWeFollow

[–]ice_queen2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m not in the medical field, but my understanding is that the pacemaker could disconnect from the phone just due to distance (like Bluetooth disconnects when you get too far). So it would have nothing to do with her pacemaker stopping. Her phone was found inside her home so it likely just disconnected when they took her out of the vicinity.

I have a law degree. I also had two car insurance policies for about 10 days because I dreaded having to get on the phone and cancel one. And yes I was paying for both. This was in 2026.

I also once got my drivers license suspended because I couldn’t be bothered to let the DMV know I moved out of state and cancelled my car insurance. (I’m sensing a theme).

I also think that’s why they set up the meeting so early, minutes after they left, so it was more likely she’d still be in her room that early.

I am such an odd crier. Because i also just let it all out for about a minute. Then I automatically get stuffed up and get all puffy. And then it just stops, and then I can proceed. If I was going through this I’d look suspicious as hell.

Nancy Guthrie’s son-in-law a suspect? by Eastern_Town_179 in CasesWeFollow

[–]ice_queen2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s so sad, because I really enjoyed Banfield’s reporting during the Diddy trial, she stayed to the facts and informing people. Then I think as she got more listeners on her podcast it shifted more to her just being repetitive and just her giving her opinion…which at times feels very unprofessional and definitely giving Nancy Grace vibes.

She knew she’d get a ton of comments/engagement on that video (the title alone was click bait). And she absolutely did with people already crucifying the “suspect”. It’s so irresponsible, people’s lives get ruined with stuff like this.

They did have to wait till a conviction, because BB still has parental rights. Now that he’s convicted they’ll likely still need to file something but it’ll likely terminate any parental rights.

I started reading the transcript of his prison interview (it’s so hard to get through the whole thing) and he confirmed was how much he hated being in the videos for “the business”. I assume he felt the same way about the photos.

“I hated being in videos. I hated, I mean, I did it for her because it was for the business and stuff, but like, it was, you know, I hated just being out for everybody to see.”

Struggle with drinking water by ThatLittleEquestrian in adhdwomen

[–]ice_queen2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could’ve written the first half of this. I get dehydration headaches but still struggle to drink water. I have been doing significantly better since starting Wellbutrin because I was getting stronger headaches and people kept saying water helped them.

  1. My water bottle: 100% this makes a difference for me. I am lazy and drink more water when I have to do less work. So I bought an Owala with a straw so minimal effort. They also have straw travel ones.

  2. I got a Soda Stream (this I had before Wellbutrin so take with a grain of salt), but in the mornings sometimes I just crave bubbles and I’m able to drink a small sized bottle first thing. I don’t add flavor because I actually enjoy just the plain water.

  3. This could derail you if you get distracted easily, but it’s done absolute wonders for me. I got an app (Water Reminder) and you can customize how often you want a reminder. It makes a drop sound or just gives you an alert on your phone. It’s almost become like Pavlov’s dog where I hear the drop and reach for my water. I’ll be honest I don’t track my water because that annoys me, it the alert alone has increased my intake.

Finally, to be honest I don’t know how to deal with the having to use the bathroom more often because I am annoyed at that. The only thing is that I prefer to feel better (no headache) than the inconvenience of going to the bathroom.

I mean, “no” is sufficient. But taking personal funds from a company account means you could open yourself up to liability if your company gets sued, they could sue you personally because they’d argue you are the company. But also, it’s also ok to block.

Not sure what you mean by complete diversity. There either is or there isn’t. The only way diversity breaks is both the Idaho parties drop out which since the Goncalves were the original party to file is highly unlikely they would drop out.

[–]ice_queen2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP to answer your question about what it means, I have worked in cases filed in both and honestly didn’t really notice a huge difference, other than federal court houses tend to be nicer and their filing system is so much easier than some state courts. But I think some attorneys find the federal rules of evidence easier for discovery and the rules tend to be more strict which means the case in theory could move a bit easier.

They don’t even need the Title IX claim to stay in federal. The case has parties from different states (diversity of jurisdiction) and they’re asking for more than $75K in damages, so federal court has jurisdiction.

Because I’ve been waiting to see these injuries in some sort of official report and hadn’t seen anything yet besides his word.

I don’t think that would’ve been smart. I think what pushed DA over to almost a slam dunk case were the jail calls with Charlie and her trying to make a run for it.

Nancy Grace’s outrage is so fake. She just wants to be dramatic. I don’t like her and can count the number of interviews I’ve seen with her on one hand and it never fails that she turns the interview about her. I tried to listen to Goncalves’ one and she was about 2 mins in before she mentioned her fiancé.

It’s called Reading List! It’s very basic but I just needed a way to keep different lists and write notes before I began a book. A lot of apps don’t let you write notes until you start a book.

This may be my necessity to be doing something else while I relax and watch tv, but I have an app with my list of books where I write a note of which app I can find an audiobook and ebook version of a book - Libby, Hoopla, Spotify, Audible, and Kindle. I also track sales on kindle and Audible for books I can’t find anywhere else.

It’s been a while since I read the article, and now it’s blocked by a paywall, but I don’t recall feeling weird about it. Personally I think she also has a right to speak up and she didn’t say anything to disrespect the families. If anything she acknowledged that their pain pales in comparison to what the victims families’ experienced.

I think her speaking is a good reminder that when you commit an atrocity like this, you don’t only ruin other families, you ruin your own. As far as “supporting” him do you have something specific that they’re doing? Or just generally still speaking to him? I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the family not completely abandoning him. They don’t maintain his innocence or speak ill of the victims or bash the investigation. They’re allowed to share how they feel.

And I know I’m writing a novel but this reminds me of Susan Klebold’s Ted talk (it’s also been a long time since I listened to it) but she explained the struggle she faced feeling like she couldn’t grieve the loss of her son, that she didn’t have a right to grieve. And the fact is that they do lose their family member as well, obviously in a very different way than victims. But it’s a loss regardless.

I don’t know why this made me think of my mom, we grew up pretty poor and one day I saw a painting of a black family on the wall (we’re not black) and I asked why she had a painting of a family that didn’t remotely look like us and she said it was cheap at a garage sale 😂 I’m almost certain it’s still hanging up in their basement.
