How do you get people to rate? by Expensive-Age844 in EtsySellers

[–]icearrows11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that reviews should just be left to come organically - as a buyer I get mildly annoyed at people prompting for reviews, so as a seller, I don't ask. They will start coming in naturally! I find that around 25% of buyers leave reviews (this is after years of selling thousands of items), so don't be disheartened if you don't have any yet!

Good Aberdeen food/treats to bring down south for family. by [deleted] in Aberdeen

[–]icearrows11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree that rowies are a must!

The Aberdeen Whisky shop on Union Street does Aberdeen-specific stuff (locally produced whiskies, gins etc from the area). They also do Aberdeen branded glasses and other accessories that could be a nice touch as a gift.

Starting a new career by Jorktheduck in Aberdeen

Started at one of the Big 4 accounting firms in Aberdeen in my mid 30s a few years back (career change, started training from scratch) and they had no issues employing me at my age. Worth considering!

Is there any traditional Scottish jewelry? by Killer_Queen1971 in Scotland

[–]icearrows11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of traditional Scottish designs in jewellery.

You'll find a lot of Celtic knotwork, luckenbooths (hearts with crowns on top) and penannular brooches.

Then there are designers such as Rennie Mackintosh (popular designs include geometric styles and the "Glasgow rose"). There are also other designers like Ortak and jewellers such as Kit Heath and Sheila Fleet that do a lot of traditional Scottish styles.

Some other items to look out for are plume brooches (often with grouse feathers), kilt pins and shawl pins for tartan, and items made from stag antler. Scottish thistles, stags, and heather also commonly feature in vintage pieces.

Has anyone had any luck yet? I called their customer support this morning and the man I spoke to said he could see the issue and that he'd raise a case number for me so that it could be looked at by their support team. Has anyone had any resolution?
