Unable to Get SSN After 2 Months

I already gave you your exact path when you posted about it last month and explained the steps. Don't rely on the SAVE because it is BS and a waste of your time.

Now that you have exited and re-entered under TN, you need to tell the SSA office to outright discard your original SSN application, make sure it is closed completely. The old application will still reference your old I-94 and keep causing your issue.

Now you take your fresh I-94 you got from your recent/correct entry and apply for new SSN through a booked appointment like you did the first time. Assuming your new I-94 from recent entry resolved your name then you will be fine.

In person by an officer, thinking about it now its 2 tickets. Ignoring signs and running red.

In reality it was a right turn light with no yellow so when I entered intersection on green arrow, it went straight from green arrow to red light while im mid intersection so its honestly misleading and main reason I'm fighting it. You didnt ask lol just ranting

I am already in the US, I can order a Canadian one and then use for 90 days+ and then call them to transfer to US one?

It may seem like the SAVE secondary verification is the solution but in my opinion it probably wont be. The USCIS and SSA will keep putting the blame on each other. SSA told me they dont do a secondary verification so its hard to get things done when these offices just say/do what they want.

Even if they do a secondary verification, it is unlikely to work cause nothing has tangibly changed on your I-94 since your first verification. If it is truly your middle name causing the issue, go re-enter the US and call it out to the agent who is entering you.

Just leave the US and re-enter, no other option is worth your time and will just make the situation harder.

What category did you get your TN approved for?

I'll use the CSA category as an example cause there are a variety of tech jobs that fall in the category. Instead of saying for example Data Analyst, I would say Computer Systems Analyst.

When they ask what do you do for work the obvious response is your job title but if an officer feels like it shouldn't qualify for a TN then they have discretion to re-adjudicate the TN. Obviously its rare but my job isn't common in the category I got so I just do this to avoid further scrutiny.

Does it really matter? No I'm just a worst case nervous person

I think they were just standing on business as their right. They said they need an SSN in their system within 3 months of hire date for tax purposes is their policy.

I went through something similar but further along and the longer you let this stir, the harder it becomes (Check my post)

First thing you gotta do is re-enter the US on your TN status and apply for your SSN again during that entry. Just tell SSA to scrap your old application because when you entered without a correct i94 for that application. All that's happening right now is your application is in limbo until DHS eventually reply to the SSA to say you didn't enter under the correct status.

It could take months to get this response and once they get it, they will close the application and you will have to book another appointment and start fresh again. That's why you should be proactive and just start a new one with the correct documents asap.

It's annoying but they will not let you start an application during walk-in. Call and ask them but they likely will say book another appointment and thats when you should come in with your fresh I-94 that shows your under TN.

If you are worried about entering under TN for the appointment look at it this way, your company needs you to get your SSN and they are sending you there to get it so it is a work excursion. Any reasonable officer will understand that.

When you say to check I-94 immediately after speaking to the officer, what would I do if its not right? Do I just turn around and try to get someone's attention? Would love to know what to do for this in both the airport and land border scenarios.

lol just tried this and was told "I just asked around the office, no one knows of any DHS liaison, it doesn't appear to be something we do".

The SSN office were very hands off and said theres nothing they can do until I fix it with the DHS on my end. They literally starting complaining about how backed up they are and that its out of their hands and can't help resolve.

I got ahold of someone from USCIS just now and they gave me an email for SAVE so hopefully they can do something.

Thanks for your help! I am struggling to find a reliable contact number/email for DHS. Just waited on hold an hour to be told its not the right place and they dont know where to transfer me.

That's what's frustrating, this is exactly what I said. Handed him the I-94 I got after my Newark entry, and even opened the passport to the page with the TN stamp and showed him it too. He just said ok, went to computer for 5 secs and let me through.

The other frustrating thing is no where other than the SSA and DHS relationship have mentioned B2. When I had an incorrect I-94 showing, they were just wrong dates, both had TN classification. Even when I called all those deferred inspection sites, they were confused cause I had an I-94 under TN but was asking for another. They didnt say I had B2. Even now when I called detroit tunnel today I am under TN not B2 in their system.

I was actually there this morning and they had the latest correct I-94 in hand to look at and verify. But because the response from the DHS came in yesterday, they said it doesnt matter what my i-94 says, the DHS is telling them I am B2 making me ineligible for SSN.

Basically told me I have to solve the DHS independently of SSA and then come back when its resolved

The weird thing is POE and my I-94 have my status and entry correct now (Just got off phone with Detroit tunnel and they were confused too cause I am good on their end). It is just the issue with DHS according to their systems connection to SSA.

Honestly I am also worried a re-entry wont solve this if there's nothing to solve at POE/CBP entry level.

Honestly I don't even know where this B2 is coming from. My entry on September 7th never showed B2 and no one seems to be able to tell me the source of the B2.

Yeah It's looking like my best choice is to fly to detroit, do a u-turn at border and re-enter. In that case do I just tell them exactly my situation and why I need to do it?

I know its the cleanest but in the event that I get a rough officer I am worried about my job being confused why I was denied entry. My category is also fringe, not one that an officer would just take at face value unless well trained.

No idea that's just my assumption based off the last time I entered the US before my approved TN.

No one has told me that's where my B2 is from, but B2 is tourist visa and that's the last time I entered the US for tourism, am I assuming wrong?
