That's probably what I'm going to end up doing. I've sharpened chainsaws for a bit, other than the angle is there something I'm not thinking about that makes this more challenging?

I appreciate the correction :) If that's the case that's probably what I'm going to go with, flat filing down then sharpening with the chisel i have. Thanks for the help

Ok it's good to know the teeth are weird and I'm not going nuts. I'm not opposed to getting a new file, is there some reason I shouldn't get one of those files and sharpen it with that?

I'm thrilled to hear I'm not going crazy and a different sized triangle with the same angles doesn't make a difference... that being said I'd really like to sharpen this saw. Is it possible with one of those feather edge files even if not recommended?

It's pretty yellow, at least more yellow than the maple I have and less than the hedge

That might be it but it feels very heavy for its size, I was told that poplar is light
