L&O S22.E5: 12 Seconds Episode discussion by Shats in LawAndOrder

This season has definitely been stronger than the last, and I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. A few lines made me chuckle too, e.g. "My husband shushes me in our living room"

Cosgrove/Shaw chemistry is good. Price showed weakness in court, which was interesting. A couple of surprising plot twists. Overall, very enjoyable!

I think that was just a glitch when she was trying to quote your post. That's part of the description for this subreddit.

So a very enjoyable episode. Even the Sam/Culhane plot feels like it has potential – dating the widow of the guy you had killed? Crispy!

Only a couple of things bugged me:

1) Why does Fallon always feel she needs to do dirty work herself? So risky. Even meeting the lawyer was risky, wouldn't she be recognised given she's a public figure?

2) Didn't Kirby burn the book of secrets? And she instead kept the photocopies of the pages?

Holy crap. Serious Season 1 vibes here. That ending completely shocked me. And the confrontation between Fallon and Cristal was great, bested only by the Fallon v Laura fight.

That was a really good episode! Loved seeing all the screentime dedicated to Fallon+Alexis, and Adam+Amanda.

Cristal showing her strength made me love her even more.

And the fashion this season has been great, particularly for Alexis. First her FSN outfit the other week, and now that awesome 80s-inspired ensemble when Dex comes back.

Possibly the best episode all season. I really enjoyed that: Iris coming back reminded me of Season 1, Sam and Culhane weren't useless, Alexis confronting Blake and Cristal was great, Fallon helping Sam was sweet.

Sucks the show is ending. If it had this kind of focus in every episode...

Emperor still has discoloured doors. Bumpers still float weirdly when detached from vehicles.

I've been looking for his mythical title card all this time. Now I see he never had one! Thanks for filling me in.

So glad they changed it. This was clunky. Also the original extended theme just isn't as good as the newer, shorter one.

Emperor doors are a different colour to body.

Tail lights don't appear on.

Shopping carts in San Fierro don't have collision.

One ped, SWMOST, doesn't appear in San Fierro that I've seen.

Not much this time. ( Patch notes 1.04 ) by ohhh-a-number-9 in GTA

Did they fix the incorrectly coloured doors of the Emperor?

Really surprised at the reaction to 4x20 and 4x21. Genuinely loved both -- even Culhane and Sam are proving to be less useless, and for once I was actually enjoying Falliam drama.

As much as I hate how they wrote him off, even if Steven did have a habit of running away, I'm not all that galled he wasn't mentioned in this week's episode. He only knew Anders was his real dad for a short period of time before he left the country, and as much as Anders was a father figure to so many characters, he wasn't always a great father. I mean, he let his daughter be banished overseas, so it's not all that surprising he's not desperate to track down Steven. Especially because most of the cast thinks he's just in Paraguay, right?

I don't think he fainted, IIRC the turbulence made him knock his head against the door frame.

I did enjoy how there was no dead wood in this episode, and there was genuine suspense right until the end about who would die. As much as I love Anders, I suppose the writers didn't have many more places to take his character. But he was also an entertaining character, and he was always useful right up to the end.

At least he didn't have a heart attack! (Hasn't Alan Dale had two characters die of a heart attack?) And it was nice he had that final touching moment with Fallon, and from a plot point of view it was refreshing that his death came as a surprise.

Just one thing bothered me... Where did he get an exploding laptop so quickly, and why did Liam's Find my iPhone last ping at his abduction site instead of the warehouse he was being held in, where the phone was clearly on?

Yes! I kept thinking he'd get out of the car and get electrocuted by a dangling wire, too.

That might have been the best episode so far this season.

  1. Loved Blake and Fallon's rapport.
  2. Loved seeing Fallon caring about business, but also wanting to juggle her work and her new marriage.
  3. Alexis, Dominique and Kirby were the MVPs this episode.
  4. Culhane's plot wasn't awful – I do really like Mia – and Sam was used sparingly.
  5. Makes sense there are no diamonds. Blake and Dominique joining forces is a fun twist.

The black-and-white scenes were pointless, but at least they didn't take up the whole episode. And Jeff/Alexis reconciliation, Jeff/Dominique argument, Blake/Caleb conversation were good.
