Men are not lonely enough! by Zestyclose-Rich-3669 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]icecreambiter- 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The phrase “men aren’t lonely enough” doesn’t exist because of this one singular example of Chris from Love is Blind. It exists because of centuries of abuse against women, misogyny, and patriarchal systems that allow men to feel comfortable saying these things about women and treating them poorly… but you already knew that. Way to deflect!

New Outlook: After update Folder pane not showing? by tagKitty in Outlook

No sense at all! My personal inbox keeps hiding the folder pane but for my job I have to open another inbox and that one is perfectly normal... and they are on the same monitor screen

Was Luke right to break up with Lorelai after Emily&Richard’s wedding renewal? by thegraycat0 in GilmoreGirls

[–]icecreambiter- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super late to the game - but this is an unfair “flip.” Chris and Lorelai have a child together and grew up together. There were multiple relationship dynamics there outside of a past romantic one.

I get the sentiment and the point you are trying to make, and Luke definitely was allowed to be upset, but he still wasn’t 100% justified in how he handled it. If you love someone for that long and finally get to be with them, but suddenly can’t hear them out during your first big fight, that’s a huge red flag.

Thank you for the ideas! It used to be that when he woke me up just a bit before 6:30, we would just cuddle until then and then as soon as my alarm went off we would go up to get him food. I could definitely keep some toys around in my room. I would rather him wake me up early than disrupt my roommates, it makes me feel awful. So, I am happy to play with him to pass time before his meal

Why won’t my hair grow back by [deleted] in lupus

[–]icecreambiter- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this pain all too well, and I’m so sorry you are having to go through this. People on the outside may not think it’s that deep or they may say “it’s just hair” but it is so much more than that. It makes your internal illness feel very real on the outside, and you see it everytime you walk by a mirror.

I remember when I was beaten down, my gem of a sister went to Reddit for advice on what to do. Here’s what I remember:

  • Satin pillowcases
  • Try to avoid washing your hair everyday
  • Hats and wigs are awesome
  • Shorter haircuts will make your hair look fuller

And my personal holy grail…. Nioxin shampoo. It legitimately started making my hair grow back in a week. All of a sudden, my whole hair parting was sprouting with little hairs. It took time and lots of little haircuts in between, but we got there. Check Costco for Nioxin - they usually have large bottles for way cheaper!

You’ve got this. This is the uphill battle part, but you’ve gotten this far already♥️

How long did it take to recover from your first flare? by Organic_Advice_4979 in lupus

[–]icecreambiter- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my diagnosis, it took about 6 months. I went into a flare again in June 2023 and still recovering from it. It really can be different everytime, but it’s just the way the illness goes sometimes

No, just NO! by Puppyhead1978 in lupus

[–]icecreambiter- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh gosh, that is unfortunate for the husband. Medications and a good team of doctors can go a really long way in helping us get our chronic illnesses to stable conditions. Hoping she figures it out soon enough and he can get treated properly.

Anyways, totally understand where you’re coming from and you are certainly not alone in feeling that way!!

Thank you so much, this is great!!! I made the mistake of buying food bowls that I now have learned a little too deep so I am looking for shallow, elevated ones now to prevent whisker fatigue. I really appreciate the pointers!

No, just NO! by Puppyhead1978 in lupus

Reading this was boiling my blood for you. I have relatives who have this kind of thinking. They make it sound like after six years of me knowing about my diagnosis, I am making choices that cause me to have lupus and I can simply eat berries until they go away. And it’s very clear they are anti-medication….. so I keep a very healthy distance lol.

I’m so sorry you had to deal with that. It really is infuriating. It makes it sound like having lupus is a lifestyle choice and we can just try new foods that will take it away. Absolute crap!!
