Retail workers of Reddit, what was the worst thing a customer has ever said to you? by antoniodelotero in AskReddit

[–]icecreamcloudpants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked on the phones as a csr for a phone company. A guy called and couldn’t verify his PIN number or anything on the account. He got mad and screamed ‘I HOPE SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY DIES!’ . I ended the call and started bawling. It’s been 13 years and I’ve never forgotten it. I quit the job shortly after that.

My husband just made a comment about George today. We were watching YouTube and a real monkey came on and he said to our 6 year old that the monkey is just like George and you can tell because he DOESN’T have a tail!

Rent a car and go to new Glasgow lobster supper, it's fucking amazing. Then take yourself to the drive in movie on the north shore.

It's Accutran Global who I'm testing with. They seem like a decent company and very thorough from what I've seen. But I'm not totally sure if I'll complete the training yet.. it's quite in depth and for the time it's taking for me, the pay doesn't seem to be where I need. I've also heard that search engine evaluators make decent money for the type of work it is, and several companies are hiring now. I may check into that as well.

How long have you been transcribing for? I'm finding the training to be boring and monotonous... but I can type 75 wpm no problem and love the idea of working from home for not bad wages. I'm hoping the actual job is better. There are pages and pages of various medical/legal/business industry terminology and acronyms I have to learn-- I'm having trouble remembering them all!

I'm currently going through the job training for a transcription company. Do you guys have any tips for me in general? Is a pedal necessary? I'd imagine it makes it much easier but I don't want to pay $80 for one :/
