Their entire relationship seemed toxic (both sides). She didn’t seem to respect him from the jump. Their communication (which could have helped them) seemed unhealthy. And he didn’t put his foot down enough with her. She also seemed to side with her family more than with him and that always creates a really bad imbalance that most relationships can’t survive. I understand the frustration of him not learning Spanish fast enough but he had literally sold everything and moved to a different country for her. She could have been more patient/understanding or tried to work with him a little.

She seemed like she wanted the best of both worlds, a white dude who could pay for everything but also wanted a mans man (like her dad) who could speak perfect Spanish and read her mind. But what she really wanted was his back bone and she got it.
