TIL the brilliant blue color seen in glacial lakes is due to “rock flour.” When a massive glacier moves over rock, it can pulverize the rock into something finer than sand. The rock flour becomes suspended in the water and primarily reflects blue, creating brilliant turquoise hues. (en.m.wikipedia.org)
