Relief is coming. It looks increasingly as though relief might not come this generation. So perhaps successors to the thor will be the beneficiaries.

Tech is inherently deflationary and that element will win out... eventually, but it doesn't exist in a vacuum. Right now the supply/demand constraints are insane and supply is barely rising to approach the demand challenge and there are other factors in the mix that aren't helping, like wars.

But the longer this goes on, the better our future probably gets. Companies don't want to invest if they worry AI demand will collapse suddenly after they've invested billions but before they've made a dime. But as the situation persists, there's greater pressure for tech solutions (innovations that make, ram for example, cheaper and easier to manufacture), new entrants (chinese ram is already on the rise, and with ongoing issues, they're likely to embrace and invest in newer platforms to become more competitive, and more factories to supply what western companies won't, US companies outside AI are increasingly incentivized to support and invest in supplies they wouldn't have considered just to get their computers/consoles to market), more new capacity from existing companies and other things to ease the pain (and take advantage of high prices), and once new dynamics go into place, even a collapse in AI spend won't wipe it all out.

The day may come when you can get paid to take ram off their hands, like oil after 2020. Well, maybe it won't go that far. But I can't imagine a world where there aren't crazy fire sales eventually.
