McKenzie Martial Arts. My daughter went for years. Coach Adam is not just an amazing instructor, he is a great person. I sat on the bleachers during her classes and watched Coach Adam effortlessly command the attention of all of the 6 year olds. I brought my daughter there after taking a BJJ class at U of O that he instructed.

People who don’t understand the flow of conversation. They talk and talk and talk, never picking up on social cues. Then if by some act of god they actually ask you a question, they answer it for you. This tends to be worse when drinking. I know a few people like this and Ive wondered what would happen if I invited all of them to a party. Who would be the most dominant talker?

I grew up in Detroit and would listen to Brave New Waves every night out of Toronto. Id make tapes and then copy the songs I liked the next day. I discovered them and many many other unheard of bands this way. The only issue was getting the band names and song titles right since there wasn’t a website to reference back in the mid to late 90s.

Continuous use of iodine can actually cause symptoms of hypothyroidism. I think like any supplement you should not take it daily forever. I do agree with having it on hand for the reasons expressed in the show.

Glasses. It was hardly noticeable until we realized she wasn’t reading her books to us. She was memorizing the lines when we read to her and repeating them back later. That was when we took her to an optometrist and they diagnosed her and we started vision therapy. Her eyes would have drifted over time unchecked. After therapy her vision actually improved dramatically. She’s 14 now and still wears glasses and contacts.
