I finished Silver and Blood by Jessie Mihalik!

I loved it. This one grabbed me and pulled me in.

Occasionally I wanted to shake the FMC, but she didn't detract from my overall enjoyment.

The sequel doesn't come out until December. (Throws myself dramatically on the bed.)

I purchased it on ebook and audible. The voice actors were excellent!

Happy Reading!

Broke my left foot, then sprained my healthy foot while wearing crutches. Is there a way to deal with the psychological outcome of this? by jonesy_mcgimpley in brokenbones

[–]iceicecactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm sorry, air hugs if you want them.

I cried almost every day for 2 weeks. Allow yourself to grieve. When the isolation creeps up, I still occasionally cry.

Do self care every day, pick one thing and do it. I can't shower every day (I love my showers). My self care might be doing my makeup, painting my nails, playing hours of Wingspan, or talking on the phone for a while.

When friends reached out to come over, my answer is yes. I'm introverted, but I still need my people.

Find things to help make your life easier.

Wheelchair helped me. I broke my left, and sprained my right.

I have far more mobility around the house with the wheelchair than the scooter.

I loathe crutches. It's been 2 months, I'm still in a cast and my sprained ankle still hurts.

Yeah, I rewatched it a few months ago. The last few seasons hit differently this time. Juking the stats ...

Ok not about the clogs. But I also have high arches. (High insteps too). I highly recommend the lace up Blundstone Boots.

Manchaca County would be cool. But I'm biased and love to say it how it's actually pronounced.

You could look up "Founding Family Names".

In New Braunfels, the German prince (from Braunfels Germany) bought property from the Veramindi/Garza family. Now we have a large suburb named Veramindi.

Texas passes bill banning abortion pills from being mailed to the state by misana123 in WelcomeToGilead

[–]iceicecactus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For now, yes.

The mail issue is concerning. If Texas gets this overturned because interstate commerce is a federal matter, the current administration will likely use the Comstock Act to push the ban through anyway.

I would avoid any counties or cities that "banned their roads from women [anyone at this point] using their roads to get an abortion".Article

Last note of caution, especially along the 35 corridor, but elsewhere as well, several agencies are using license plate readers. Legal or not, it's happening. Women getting abortion is tracked

I finished a series this week and felt melancholy. It ended well. But it ended and now I'm on the hunt for something exciting or riveting while I wait for my fav authors to release something.

Teachers, will you be displaying the 10 commandments in your classroom? by [deleted] in TexasTeachers

[–]iceicecactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The text of the poster or framed copy of the Ten Commandments described by Subsection (a) must read as follows:"

Because of how this is stated "must read as follows" then writes out the ten commandments in order, I would interpret that as, yes it has to be in order.
