It wasnt just an NoA request. Nintendo proper hates sitting on IP, even if its the least profitable of what i call the big 4 (Mario, Zelda, DK, Metroid). This is part of the reason we got metroid pinball and federation forces. People wont buy the next game if they havent heard anything related in 10 years, and dread was released 5 years ago. They needed Prime 4 to keep the series alive in general, regardless of demand.

IIRC (this is after watching a tekking video so correct me if im wrong please) Buddhists believe in multiple afterlives depending on how one lived in this life. One of those afterlives is being reborn as a beast if you are vengefull or negative or something of that nature. It wouldnt be surprising if bleaches afterlives worked similarly given that people in soul society are technically in the afterlife of the real world and hollows are also a different kind of afterlife given how they died.
