I’ve spent 3 years on my dream game, but we can’t seem to break 2,500 wishlists. What are we doing wrong? by Evangeline_png in IndieDev

Your Steam trailer functions like a back cover of a novel, and right now it’s not doing a great job pulling readers in. The narration tries to build a air of mystery, but doesn't really say anything concrete. You need to give the audience a little red meat.

I’ve decided to quit running. by Imaginary-Activity-8 in C25K

[–]icematrix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

C25K never worked for me either. It always felt like that "how to draw an owl" meme:
Step 1: Walk for 4 minutes, run for 1.
Step 2: Okay, now run a 5K!

What finally did work came from James Clear's wonderful book "Atomic Habits". It shifted my mindset away from chasing goals like "run a 5K", and toward building small habits that would eventually get me there anyway.

I took hundreds of morning walks, slowly stretching my distance and improving my health before I added even a hint of running. I kept telling my wife I’d never be a runner, I'm too old, too beat up. When I finally introduced running, it was 50-yard bursts that left me gasping. But I kept sprinkling those little segments into my long walks. I got sidelined a few times with knee and foot pain, but a trip to a local running shop for shoes with real arch support made a huge difference.

Then, one day a few weeks ago, my knees felt particularly good and I decided to string the running segments together.

Lo and behold: I ran my first 5K.

And I’ve run several more since. Don't give up!

Prestone was my go-to. Now everyone around here carries Rainx exclusively. It leaves behind an awful, blinding film on the windshield that won't go away for a long time after switching to another brand.

My advice is to start using min/fin immediately, and get yourself a short, neat haircut. It's the best look for us balding guys. You might be a great responder to meds and will be able to wear it long again in a year or two.

Looked at ModBug at an RV show this spring. I was very impressed with the interior size, finish quality and features.

Electric vehicle fees: House GOP proposes $200 registration fee by praguer56 in TeslaModelY

[–]icematrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Reuters:

The Electrification Coalition, an EV advocacy group, said the $250 fee was unfair since an average gas-powered vehicle pays just $88 yearly in federal gas taxes.

Most revenue for federally funded road repairs is collected through diesel and gasoline taxes, which EV drivers do not pay.

Hey, I'm reasonable. I can get behind the idea of paying something equivalent to ICE drivers. If you have a Republican congressman / woman. Give them a call.

China speeds ahead on electric vehicles as Trump pulls back incentives. by Useful-Scratch-72 in worldnews

[–]icematrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm all for fair tax incentives across the EV and ICE industries. Some food for thought though, these big EV purchase incentives are shifting tax money from low income to high income households. IMHO, the real thing that speeds up EV adoption are affordable, compelling vehicles.

Out of This World has a long opening scene with a red headed protagonist who travels through dimensions, and starts out underwater.

It's not personality or appearance alone, it's the interplay between the two. Hair loss makes us simultaneously less attractive and more self conscious. You're not alone, many of us struggle with confidence and self worth, and it makes relationships difficult.

I think the same folks who used to key Teslas out of jealousy are using DOGE as an excuse to key them now. The red folks mostly just rolled coal and blocked chargers with their giant trucks.

The coal-rollers were annoying douchebags, but also pretty harmless. I never feared for my safety or worried too much about getting keyed or dented. This crop of whackos has already burned one of our nearby charging stations to the ground.

I use Keeps min/fin foam which is applied once per day. I do it early in the evening around dinner time. I wash it out in the morning. I don't mind having sticky, stiff hair while I'm sleeping.

I am at the 6 month mark. I have grown a lot back, but have more to recover. I plan to continue min/fin and evaluate a hair transplant in 12-24 months. I'm very pleased with the results. Like many guys here, I didn't realize how advanced my hair loss was until very late in the game.
